Job Title: Clinical Officer
\nLocation: Bunju \u201cA\u201d \u2013 Mabwepande, Dar es salaam

\nJob Summary
\nThe Clinical Officer is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered clinical care at the health center. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing patients\u2019 medical conditions, promoting preventive healthcare, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards and protocols. As part of a newly opened health center, the Clinical Officer will also contribute to establishing efficient clinical systems and maintaining quality service delivery.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Clinical Care & Patient Management<\/p>\n
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking and physical examinations.
\nDiagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
\nPrescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with national guidelines and scope of practice.
\nPerform minor surgical procedures and wound care as appropriate.
\nProvide maternal and child health services, including antenatal and postnatal care.
\nManage emergency cases and provide first aid or stabilization before referral when necessary.<\/p>\n
Preventive & Public Health Services<\/p>\n
Provide immunization services.
\nConduct health education and counseling on disease prevention, hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle modification.
\nParticipate in community outreach programs and health campaigns.
\nPromote infection prevention and control measures within the facility.<\/p>\n
Records & Reporting<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
\nEnsure proper documentation of diagnoses, treatments, and follow-ups.
\nCompile and submit required clinical and statistical reports.
\nSupport implementation of health information systems.<\/p>\n
Quality Assurance & Compliance<\/p>\n
Adhere to Ministry of Health policies, clinical protocols, and ethical standards.
\nParticipate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
\nEnsure safe handling of drugs, equipment, and medical supplies.
\nMaintain patient confidentiality at all times.<\/p>\n
Administrative & Operational Support<\/p>\n
Assist in setting up clinical workflows and standard operating procedures for the facility.
\nSupport inventory monitoring of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
\nCollaborate with nurses, laboratory staff, and other healthcare workers to ensure coordinated care.
\nParticipate in staff meetings and continuous professional development activities.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Requirements<\/p>\n
Diploma or Degree in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
\nValid practicing license from the relevant regulatory authority.
\nRegistration with the appropriate professional council.
\nAt least [1\u20133] years of clinical experience (experience in primary healthcare preferred).
\nCertification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Life Support is an added advantage.
\nStrong clinical decision-making skills.
\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
