\nJob Summary
\nThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory tests and procedures to assist physicians and other healthcare professionals in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating patients. As part of a newly established health center, the Laboratory Technician will play a key role in setting up laboratory systems, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient daily operations.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Laboratory Testing & Analysis<\/p>\n
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and urinalysis.
\nCollect, label, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, stool, etc.).
\nOperate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
\nRecord and analyze test results accurately.
\nReport abnormal results promptly to the supervising physician.<\/p>\n
Quality Control & Compliance<\/p>\n
Maintain quality control procedures and documentation.
\nEnsure compliance with health regulations and laboratory standards.
\nFollow infection control and safety protocols.
\nAssist in developing laboratory SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).<\/p>\n
Equipment & Inventory Management<\/p>\n
Monitor laboratory supplies and reagents.
\nMaintain proper storage conditions for specimens and chemicals.
\nCoordinate equipment servicing and preventive maintenance.
\nAssist in procurement of laboratory materials.<\/p>\n
Laboratory Setup<\/p>\n
Assist in setting up laboratory workflows and documentation systems.
\nSupport accreditation and licensing processes.
\nHelp establish record-keeping systems both manual and electronic.
\nParticipate in developing laboratory policies.<\/p>\n
Administrative & Team Support<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate patient records and test documentation.
\nCollaborate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff.
\nParticipate in staff meetings and training sessions.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Requirements<\/p>\n
Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
\nValid professional certification\/license as required by local regulations.
\nMinimum [1\u20133] years of laboratory experience (experience in a start-up facility is an advantage).
\nKnowledge of laboratory quality standards and safety regulations.
\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.
\nGood communication and teamwork skills.
\nBasic computer proficiency (laboratory information systems preferred).<\/p>\n
