\nJob Title: Structural Engineer\/Bridge Engineer
\nReporting to:\u00a0Project Manager \/ Resident Engineer
\nJob Purpose
\nThe Structural \/ Bridge Engineer is responsible for supervising, reviewing, and ensuring the quality and compliance of all structural and bridge-related works within the project. The role ensures that structural works are implemented in accordance with approved designs, engineering standards, project specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Supervision of Structural and Bridge Works\u00a0o Supervise all structural and bridge construction activities on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards. o Monitor contractor performance and ensure that works are executed according to project timelines and quality requirements.<\/p>\n
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and structural integrity standards during construction.<\/p>\n
Design Review and Technical Support\u00a0o Review and assess proposed designs for hydraulic structures, bridges, culverts, retaining structures, and other related civil works.<\/p>\n
Verify design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications submitted by contractors or consultants.
\nRecommend design improvements or modifications where necessary to enhance structural performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
\nProvide technical advice and guidance to the project team regarding structural engineering matters.<\/p>\n
Inspection and Quality Assurance\u00a0o Prepare and issue\u00a0Requests for Inspections (RFIs)\u00a0for structural works and ensure inspections are conducted in accordance with project quality assurance procedures.<\/p>\n
Conduct site inspections to verify that materials, workmanship, and construction practices meet required standards.
\nCoordinate with quality control teams and consultants during inspections and approvals.<\/p>\n
Documentation and Reporting<\/p>\n
Maintain records of inspections, site instructions, and technical reviews related to structural works.<\/p>\n
Prepare technical reports and progress updates on structural activities for the Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
\nEnsure all structural documentation is properly filed and available for audit or review.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Standards\u00a0o Ensure structural works comply with applicable\u00a0engineering codes, project specifications, and regulatory standards. o Support implementation of project quality management systems and construction best practices.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in\u00a0Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
\nRegistered or eligible for registration with a recognized\u00a0Engineering Professional Body\u00a0(e.g., ERB or equivalent).
\nMinimum\u00a05\u201310 years of experience\u00a0in structural or bridge engineering, preferably in road or infrastructure projects.
\nDemonstrated experience in\u00a0bridge construction, hydraulic structures, culverts, and reinforced concrete structures.<\/p>\n
Key Skills and Competencies<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of\u00a0structural design principles and bridge engineering.
\nExperience with\u00a0construction supervision and quality control.
\nAbility to review technical drawings and engineering calculations.
\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.
\nExcellent communication and reporting skills.
\nAbility to work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.<\/p>\n
