This role sits at the center of our financial processes\u2014managing bookkeeping, ensuring compliance, and supporting the operational backbone that allows research teams to deliver complex development projects.

\n1. Ensuring Accurate Financial Records
\nPerform monthly postings and reconciliations, including petty cash, bank, supplier, and tax reconciliations using QuickBooks.
\nMaintain accurate bookkeeping records for all expenses and revenues.
\nManage the filing and organization of financial documentation including contracts, invoices, and salary slips.
\nPrepare monthly reports necessary for financial reporting and assist with cashflow forecast updates.
\n2. Maintaining Compliance and Financial Controls
\nEnsure compliance with all taxation and regulatory requirements including NSSF, PAYE, VAT, and WHT.
\nLiaise with tax advisors and external auditors by providing required documentation and responding to queries.
\nMonitor cash and bank balances and ensure adequate TZS and USD balances for operational needs.
\nStrengthen internal controls and contribute to improving cost efficiency through better supplier agreements.

\n3. Supporting Field Operations and Project Finance
\nReview field expenses and reconcile budgets with actual expenses together with enumerators and field teams.
\nPrepare project expense reports for each batch of field activities.
\nProcess project-related payments and supplier payments in a timely manner.
\nSupport financial planning for field activities and project implementation.
\n4. Supporting Office Operations
\nAssist with procurement of office supplies and operational needs.
\nOversee office support staff such as cleaners.
\nHelp organize logistics for enumerator trainings, workshops, and meetings (venue bookings, catering, transport, etc.).
\nProvide administrative support where necessary to ensure smooth office operations.
\nWhat You Bring
\nWe are looking for a colleague with strong accounting experience and the ability to manage financial systems with precision and independence. Specifically, you have:
\nTanzania nationality.
\nBA Degree in Business Management, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
\nMinimum 4 years of relevant professional experience.
\nStrong knowledge of accounting, bookkeeping, and financial compliance.
\nProficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office, particularly Excel.
\nExcellent spoken and written English and Swahili communication skills.
\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.

\nMonthly financial reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
\nFinancial documentation and filing systems are well organized and easily accessible.
\nField expense reconciliations are accurate and efficient.
\nCompliance requirements are consistently met without delays or penalties.
