The role also provides leadership, oversight, and monitoring of the implementation of the Privacy Programme across Vodacom Tanzania and its subsidiaries in alignment with local laws.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<br \/>\nEnsure timely provision of legal advice, guidance, and support to line management on business matters as needed.<br \/>\nSafeguard the legal interests of the company and its subsidiaries in dealings with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.<br \/>\nManage contract drafting, review, and contracting processes in line with the company\u2019s Delegation of Authority, and monitor contract compliance to prevent potential breaches.<br \/>\nManage outsourced legal services, including service level agreements (SLAs) with external legal providers.<br \/>\nEnsure timely registration and renewal of trademarks for the company and its subsidiaries in liaison with relevant Group officers.<br \/>\nEnsure company owned properties are legally protected and appropriately registered.<br \/>\nMonitor and manage departmental resources and budget while overseeing the implementation of departmental policies and procedures.<br \/>\nManage legal disputes and litigation, and represent the company and its subsidiaries before courts and other dispute resolution bodies<br \/>\nFacilitate effective interdepartmental and cross functional communication.<br \/>\nPerform any other legal duties as assigned.<br \/>\nMaintain, update, and communicate Privacy controls, requirements, and processes, ensuring defined ownership, regular review, and staff awareness through internal platforms and training.<br \/>\nIntegrate Vodafone Group Privacy standards into the local Privacy Programme and identify additional local requirements for personal data processing.<br \/>\nMaintain and report the local Privacy Risk Register and Operational Issue Register, supporting governance routines with the Board Sponsor and Privacy &amp; Security SteerCo.<br \/>\nPrepare and execute the Annual Local Privacy Plan aligned with the Global Privacy Plan, with emphasis on mitigating local privacy risks.<br \/>\nProvide timely privacy related legal advice to the company and its subsidiaries and ensure effective implementation of the Privacy Policy across all business functions.<br \/>\nLead implementation of the Organisational Privacy Impact Assessment (OPIA) process and ensure adoption of Privacy by Design across products, services, and operational processes.<br \/>\nManage privacy related regulatory engagements, including approvals, permissions, and compliance obligations.<br \/>\nCoordinate between the Privacy Division and internal\/external stakeholders and perform other related duties as assigned.<br \/>\nCore competencies, Qualification, Knowledge and Experience<br \/>\nUniversity graduate with a degree in law, majoring in corporate\/business law subjects.<br \/>\nAdmission as an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.<br \/>\nKnowledge of governance, public policy, and administrative law.<br \/>\nMinimum five years\u2019 experience in corporate law practice.<br \/>\nMinimum two years\u2019 experience in a management role.<br \/>\nExperience in the telecommunications industry is an added advantage.<br \/>\nStrong understanding of legal practices, procedures, and principles.<br \/>\nStrong computer literacy with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word.<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal and customer oriented skills.<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.<br \/>\nAbility to apply legal knowledge effectively and advise management.<br \/>\nStrong analytical skills in identifying and interpreting legal issues affecting the company<br \/>\nWho you are<br \/>\nNot a perfect fit?<br \/>\nWorried that you don\u2019t meet all the desired criteria exactly?
