You are Absa.\u00a0You are possibility.<br \/>\nJob Summary<br \/>\n\u2022 To provide the senior management team with an insightful knowledge of the bank\u2019s business drivers through robust and challenging analysis.<br \/>\n\u2022 To provide a proactive approach to improving quality of management information and analysis.<br \/>\n\u2022 Act as a focal point for communication between Finance and other departments \/ clusters within ABT and Group Finance on budget and performance issues.<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify cost drivers and recommend cost control \/ management initiatives<br \/>\n\u2022 To lead the business analytics team.<br \/>\n\u2022 As part of Finance function leadership team to play a leadership role by providing insights, ideas and technical accounting and business solutions for the betterment of the bank<br \/>\nJob Description<br \/>\nMain accountabilities and approximate time split<br \/>\nPlanning\u00a0 40%<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To co-ordinate preparation of ABT\u2019s medium term plan and budgets including providing management with analytical support to enable them to prepare and submit quality budgets within agreed periods.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To challenge functional budgets thereby ensuring that they are realistic and stretching.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0To ensure capital budgets are adhered.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Build a relationship with all budget holders at all levels.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensure functional and Group cross working in Country and with Group and Cluster Teams.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0To agree key budget assumptions and to prepare the budget timetable.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Prepare CMC and Board packs on performance assessment against set budgets<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nPerformance Management 50%<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Effective presentation of detailed business performance analysis through production of monthly management accounts.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Support and constructively challenge monthly results, forecasts and plans for each of the business line.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Perform ad hoc analysis within set deadlines and as requested by senior management.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Identify value adding initiatives in conjunction with Chief Financial Officer and other business leaders in other functions.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide accurately segmented information on income, costs and balance sheet to satisfy internal and external functional needs.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Prepare and submit \/ forward Ml requests from CMC members and Group Finance within agreed deadlines and to ensure the information meet the highest standard.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0To prepare capital plans and to review every month to ensure that there are no violations of WRA ratios and other BOT requirements<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Be aware of and up to date with all financial and commercial issues affecting the bank.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Recommend system enhancements to strengthen financial management systems.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Managing group reporting that falls under planning and performance management.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nStaff Management 10%<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Help team members to identify strengths and weaknesses in their own skills and attributes, review their self-development plans and ensure training and development needs are accommodated.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coach team members on Planning &amp; Performance Management.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assess employee\u2019s performance against contract. Advanced level skills on Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint<br \/>\n\u00a7\u00a0 Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.<br \/>\n\u00a7\u00a0 Strong planning skills \u2013 Experience in budgeting process in organizations<br \/>\n\u00a7\u00a0 Excellent communication skills at all levels.<br \/>\n\u00a7\u00a0 \u00a0Excellent understanding of competitive activity.<br \/>\n\u00a7\u00a0 Good understanding of global and domestic economic trends.<br \/>\n\u00a7\u00a0 Ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising quality.<br \/>\n\u00a7\u00a0 Strong team player with good interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
