Job Description: Head of Public Sector, Institutional Banking & EMDOs
\nReporting Line\u00a0Reports to: ED, Business Development
\nRoles and Responsibilities
\n1. Business Development<\/p>\n
Drive client acquisition and management of existing Public Sector client relationships in line with the Bank\u2019s strategy to achieve desired quality business growth.
\nMaintain, acquire, and reactivate customer relationships to improve deposit liability growth and mix.
\nConduct market research and competitor analyses within the marketing area and develop strategies to secure a larger market share for the bank.
\nSource for and monitor deals within cash-rich government parastatals.
\nDrive synergy and segment growth between the EMDOs, Institutional Banking, and Public Sector teams.
\nEnsure value chain business from the segments is mined in partnership with the Retail and Transaction Banking Sales teams.
\nMaintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive offerings in the market.<\/p>\n
2. Product Management<\/p>\n
Provide strategic direction and guidance to product marketing units to ensure successful launching of new initiatives and sustenance of existing ones for the segments under oversight.
\nAdvise the MD\/CEO on new business opportunities and develop strategies for financial benefit realization.
\nEstablish and develop various sales strategies to meet ever-changing customer needs.
\nRecommend the creation of viable and profitable risk assets to increase business office profitability.<\/p>\n
3. Strategy & Networking<\/p>\n
Identify new banking relationships and product offerings to meet the needs of MDAs, NGOs, Embassies, financial institutions (fund managers, insurance companies, etc.).
\nEnhance client retention by providing a one-stop point of contact for all client needs and requirements while delivering world-class customer service.
\nKeep abreast of local and international developments in the area of trade and financing.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)<\/p>\n
Achieve the approved department\u2019s Profit Before Tax (PBT) target for the Bank.
\nAchieve the approved segment deposit and liabilities target for the Bank.
\nAchieve sustainable volume business growth in the segments with consistent share of wallet growth.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree with Lower Second Class and above in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Law, or similar disciplines.
\nMinimum of 8 years\u2019 experience in treasury, marketing, credit analysis, or relationship management, with at least 2 years in Public Sector (PSG), Institutional Banking & EMDOs.
\nIn-depth knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.
\nProficient in Microsoft Office.
\nExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
\nCustomer-focused, results-oriented, and innovative.
\nFluent in English.<\/p>\n
