\nResponsibilities
\nLitigation Management
\nOversee managing, directing, and mitigating the legal risks associated with disputes, lawsuits, and regulatory investigations for the company
\nThe primary liaison officer between the business and external law firms ensure that legal strategies align with company goals, and that disputes are handled in a cost-effective manner
\nLiaise with external counsels
\nEnsure that proper instructions are obtained from the internal User Group that requires external legal services
\nSpell out the company\u2019s objective for each brief to the external advisors and agree delivery timelines and costs which must be within budget
\nMonitor delivery and ensure that expected standards are met
\nReview the advice provided by external counsel to ensure that solutions are provided or collaborate with external advisor until a solution is offered
\nEscalate matters to manager on a regular basis as required
\nEnsure all commercial transactions and agreements are drafted, processed within the Quality and kept in safe custody
\nFamiliarize self with provisions of the Company DOA and relevant policies on Contract Documentation
\nCheck and ensure that instructions to prepare contracts are well documented by User Groups and approved in line with the provisions of Company DOA
\nEnsure that the set timelines and standards are adhered to
\nSource proper form of documentation for each type of transaction
\nEnsure that drafted document covers all issues and adequately protects the Company\u2019s interests
\nProviding legal support with respect for Corporate Secretarial Duties<\/p>\n
Obtain proper instructions for registration and or filing of corporate documents
\nDrafting Resolutions, Board Papers and related Documents
\nKeeping safe and tracking updates of all the key licenses, permits and all the key documents
\nSupporting the Department in respect of Company\u2019s commercial matters including Intellectual Property matters
\nObtain proper instructions for registration of intellectual property from the relevant User Group
\nImmediately take steps to register same marks requiring registration
\nFollow up with the Regulatory bodies to ensure that all queries raised in the registration process are addressed and cleared
\nFlag any breach of the Company\u2019s Intellectual Property rights and take steps to reprimand perpetrator in accordance with the legal provisions
\nQualifications
\nEducational Qualifications & Functional \/ Technical Skills
\nBachelor of Laws (LLB)
\nQualified Advocate licensed to practice in Tanzania Courts.
\nRelevant Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
\n3-5 years experience in handling corporate, contractual \/commercial-related legal matters
\nCandidate must have up-to-date knowledge of commercial law, including, but not limited to:
\nLitigation management
\nCompany Law
\nLegal drafting
\nGeneral contract law
\nCorporate and Commercial law
\nTelecommunications industry structure and business models; and
\nEmployment law and practice
\nIntellectual Property law
\nOther requirements (Behavioral etc.)
\nAbility to make quick and informed business decisions
\nMust possess sound knowledge of commercial and business issues
\nMust be a team player
