HS Superintendent (1 position)
\nReports to:\u00a0HSE Manager\u00a0Duration:\u00a012 Months
\nThe HS Superintendent is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated HS Management System to ensure that employees and contractors proactively adhere to safety best practices in line with company standards, procedures, and Tanzanian regulatory requirements. This role will be responsible for Development, implementation, and oversight of health and safety systems and processes related to the project construction, operational readiness, and mine operations of the Nyanzaga gold mine.
\nRoles and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Oversee the Perseus departments and contractor\u2019s HS performance, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company-specific safety standards.
\nReview and approve the contractor\u2019s HS management plans, ensuring it aligns with the project\u2019s overall safety objectives.
\nManage the fatality risk management program and other safety cultural programs including SHED (Safely Home Every Day).
\nLead incident investigations for all significant safety event, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are thoroughly documented and communicated.
\nMonitor and report on the contractor\u2019s and Perseus health and safety performance, providing regular updates to the Project HS Manager and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Qualification\/Experience<\/p>\n
Tertiary qualifications in OHS management
\nMinimum of 10 years in mine site OHS management roles, with 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent position.<\/p>\n
