\nWho are we?
\nMaternity Africa is a Christian-based not-for-profit organization that endeavours to provide fistula treatment and quality maternity care for all marginalized women throughout Tanzania.\u00a0 We do this through clinical excellence and in the example of displaying love, kindness and compassion regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. Maternity Africa operates from its base at Kivulini Maternity Centre outside the city of Arusha in Northern Tanzania.

\nAbout the role.
\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and keen to learn Biomedical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of medical equipment and a passion for ensuring patient safety. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and calibration of a variety of medical devices. You will also provide technical support to clinical staff including equipment handling trainings and participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment.

\nRole Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of medical devices, including imaging equipment, patient monitoring systems, and laboratory equipment.
\nTroubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
\nCalibrate and test equipment to ensure accuracy and safety.
\nProvide technical support to clinical staff.
\nParticipate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment.
\nMaintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
\nComply with all safety and regulatory standards.
\nAny other relevant duties as assigned by the line manager\/supervisor.<\/p>\n

\nQualifications and certifications, Experience and Skills required.<\/p>\n
A Diploma in Biomedical Engineering Technology.
\nKnowledge of medical equipment and electronics.
\nTroubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
\nMust have Report writing skills
\nCertifications such as Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
