\nPosition Summary
\nThe General Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the lodge and tours business. The role will focus on driving business growth, enhancing guest experience, increasing revenue, managing car hire and transport operations, and strengthening the company\u2019s presence in the hospitality and tourism market.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Provide overall leadership and management of the lodge, tours, and transport operations
\nDevelop and implement business development, sales, and marketing strategies to achieve growth targets
\nIdentify new markets, partnerships, and revenue-generating opportunities within the tourism and hospitality sectors
\nOversee tours operations, including safari bookings, transport logistics, vehicle hire, and fleet management
\nEnsure the effective management, maintenance, scheduling, and profitability of all company vehicles used for tours and car hire services
\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, travel agents, tour operators, partners, and other stakeholders
\nDrive sales initiatives and increase the visibility of the company in local and international markets
\nEnsure high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction
\nLead and supervise departmental managers and staff to ensure strong performance and accountability
\nPrepare and present business reports, budgets, strategic plans, and performance updates to senior management
\nEnsure compliance with company policies, health and safety standards, and relevant tourism and transport regulations<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field
\nA postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage
\nMinimum of 10 years\u2019 experience in the hospitality and tourism industry, preferably within a luxury lodge or hotel environment
\nAt least 5 years\u2019 experience serving as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager
\nProven experience in tours operations, fleet management, transport coordination, and car hire services
\nStrong understanding of market trends, customer behaviour, and revenue generation strategies
\nDemonstrated ability to drive business growth and achieve sales targets
\nExcellent computer skills and proficiency in business management systems<\/p>\n
