\nPosition title:
\nDirector of Fiber Infrastructure & Network Strategy
\nJob purpose:
\nTo lead the strategic expansion, maintenance, and optimization of Halotel\u2019s national optic fiber footprint. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of the four-tier network architecture\u2014Backbone, Distribution, Metro, and Last Mile\u2014ensuring seamless integration with the National ICT Broadband Backbone (NICTBB) and high-availability connectivity for all Base Transceiver Stations (BTS).
\nRequired qualifications & experience:<\/p>\n
Industry experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the telecommunications sector, specifically within fiber optics (OFC) and transmission.<\/p>\n
Education: Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.<\/p>\n
Technical proficiency: Deep understanding of DWDM, SDH, GPON technologies, and large-scale IP\/MPLS network architectures.<\/p>\n
Leadership: Proven track record of managing large cross-functional teams and multi-million dollar infrastructure budgets.<\/p>\n
Local context: Strong knowledge of the Tanzanian telecom landscape, including familiarity with TCRA regulations and NICTBB operational protocols.<\/p>\n
