{"id":3554,"date":"2026-04-22T14:02:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T14:02:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/tanzania\/job\/geotechnical-technician-at-sotta-mining\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T00:50:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T00:50:12","slug":"geotechnical-technician-at-sotta-mining","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/tanzania\/?post_type=job_listing&p=3554","title":{"rendered":"Geotechnical Technician at Sotta Mining"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Geotechnical Technician (1 Position)<br \/>\nReports to:\u00a0Geotechnical Engineer<br \/>\nThe Geotechnical Technician supports the Geotechnical Engineer in maintaining safe and efficient open pit operations by collecting geotechnical data, maintaining monitoring systems, and assisting with field investigations and projects.<br \/>\nRoles and responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Maintain and monitor geotechnical systems (e.g., prisms, radars, piezometers, extensometers).<\/p>\n<p>Collect and record geotechnical data to support safe mining operations.<\/p>\n<p>Assist with drilling supervision, mapping, logging, and sampling activities.<\/p>\n<p>Support installation and maintenance of geotechnical monitoring equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Identify and report geotechnical hazards such as slope instability and rockfalls.<\/p>\n<p>Conduct pit inspections and support safe work practices.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinate with mining, safety, engineering, and contractor teams.<\/p>\n<p>Assist in drone surveys and geotechnical data collection where required.<\/p>\n<p>Qualification\/experience<\/p>\n<p>Minimum 2\u20133 years\u2019 experience in mining, mineral exploration, or civil engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Diploma or relevant qualification (as guided by HR).<\/p>\n<p>Valid driving licence is required.<\/p>\n<p>Experience with geotechnical monitoring, core logging, or mapping is an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
