\nRole Overview<\/p>\n
AKES,T is seeking a dynamic and experienced\u00a0Athletic Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the school\u2019s sports and physical education programme across Nursery, Primary, and Secondary levels. The role promotes student wellbeing, inclusion, participation, and excellence in sport, in alignment with the school\u2019s vision and mission.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Lead, develop, and implement a comprehensive, inclusive sports and physical education programme across all sections of the school.
\nManage and support sports staff to ensure high-quality PE and co-curricular provision.
\nOversee curriculum development and progression in physical education.
\nCoordinate internal and external fixtures, competitions, sports days, and events.
\nBuild partnerships with schools, sports organisations, TISA, and local clubs.
\nCommunicate effectively with parents, staff, and students regarding sports activities and expectations.
\nMonitor and evaluate programme quality, participation, and student achievement, report to the Head of School.
\nEnsure health, safety, safeguarding, and discipline standards are upheld.
\nManage sports facilities, equipment, budgets, and departmental resources.
\nMaintain records, lead departmental planning, and contribute to whole-school priorities.
\nTeach a designated PE\/sports timetable to remain actively engaged in learning and student development.<\/p>\n
The requirements
\nRequired Qualifications<\/p>\n
Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (postgraduate qualification desirable).
\nRecognised teaching qualification.
\nRelevant coaching qualifications (desirable).<\/p>\n
Experience and Skills<\/p>\n
3- 4 years working experience\u00a0 leading or coordinating sports programmes in a school or similar setting.
\nStrong leadership, organisational, and people-management skills.
\nExperience organising fixtures, competitions, and sports events.
\nKnowledge of health, safety, and safeguarding requirements in school sport.
\nExcellent communication and partnership-building skills.
\nCommitment to inclusive, student-centred sport and physical education.<\/p>\n
