The Aga Khan Education Services in Tanzania operates three schools, offering education from nursery to secondary levels. Role Overview
\nAKES,T is seeking a proactive and highly organized Sports Facility Manager to oversee the effective operation, maintenance, safety, and optimal use of all sports facilities and equipment. The role is key to ensuring high-quality provision for training, competitions, and whole\u2011school sports activities.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, cleanliness, and security of all sports facilities, ensuring they are safe and always fit for purpose.
\nManage, store, and maintain sports equipment, ensuring safe handling and readiness for use.
\nConduct regular inspections, inventory checks, and stock\u2011taking, maintaining accurate records and reporting to the Athletic Director and Head of School.
\nPrepare and set up facilities for training sessions, competitions, and events, including marking fields and arranging equipment and seating.
\nCoordinate booking schedules to ensure efficient and fair use of sports facilities.
\nWork closely with the sports department, event organisers, and external partners to support school and community sporting activities.
\nSupervise facility usage, staffing rotas, and operational coverage.
\nImplement and enforce health, safety, and risk management procedures.
\nSupport extracurricular sports activities and demonstrate flexibility in working hours to meet event demands.
\nContribute to budget planning for facility maintenance, equipment, and operational needs.<\/p>\n
The requirements
\nPosition Requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelors degree in Facilities Management, Sports Management, or a related field (preferred).
\nSound knowledge of health and safety regulations and risk management practices.
\nAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.<\/p>\n
Experience & Skills<\/p>\n
Previous experience managing sports facilities, equipment, or similar environments.
\nStrong organisational, problem\u2011solving, and record\u2011keeping skills.
\nPractical knowledge of facility preparation and sports equipment maintenance.
\nAbility to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.
\nReliable, hands\u2011on, and committed to high standards of safety and professionalism.<\/p>\n
