\nChina Dasheng Bank Limited, a licensed commercial bank regulated by the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) under the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, Cap 342 [R.E. 2023], invites applications from suitably qualified and accomplished professionals for appointment as an\u00a0Independent Non-Executive Director (INED)\u00a0to its Board of Directors.
\nRole summary
\nThe Independent Non-Executive Director will provide objective oversight and contribute to the Bank\u2019s strategic direction, governance, and regulatory compliance framework.
\nCore responsibilities
\nThe successful candidate will contribute to:<\/p>\n
Strategic planning and policy formulation<\/p>\n
Oversight of senior management performance<\/p>\n
Accountability to shareholders and stakeholders<\/p>\n
Risk management and regulatory compliance<\/p>\n
Strengthening internal control systems<\/p>\n
Review and oversight of financial reporting and disclosures<\/p>\n
Core competencies
\nApplicants must demonstrate:<\/p>\n
Proven leadership and governance experience at Board or senior executive level.<\/p>\n
Proven expertise in Finance, Accounting, or Audit with a sound understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance within the financial services sector.<\/p>\n
Independence of mind, impeccable integrity, and sound ethical judgment.<\/p>\n
Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder awareness and regulatory sensitivity<\/p>\n
Commitment to devote adequate time to Board duties and continuous professional development<\/p>\n
Minimum eligibility criteria
\nApplicants must:<\/p>\n
Be a Tanzanian citizen<\/p>\n
Possess expertise in one of the following fields: Finance, Accounting, or Auditing.<\/p>\n
Have a minimum of ten (10) years\u2019 senior management experience in banking, or financial services institutions in Tanzania.<\/p>\n
Sound understanding of the local business environment.<\/p>\n
Satisfy the \u201cfit-and-proper\u201d and independence criteria prescribed by the Bank of Tanzania.<\/p>\n
Expertise in ICT governance and cybersecurity will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
