Job \u2013 Radiographer
\nJob Summary
\nWe are looking for an organized, detail-oriented radiologic technologist to operate imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes.
\nThe Radiographer will be responsible for following physicians\u2019 orders regarding the area of the body to be scanned, positioning patients and equipment, and answering patients\u2019 questions. The role involves using imaging equipment to capture images of tissues, bones, organs, and vessels. The successful candidate may also assist in the administration of radiation therapy treatments or radiopharmaceuticals.
\nTo succeed in this role, the candidate should be compassionate and able to communicate effectively with patients. Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nThe Radiographer will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations.
\nAdministering radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear and usable images.
\nPositioning patients and equipment appropriately.
\nExplaining procedures to patients and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination.
\nInserting commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences.
\nMonitoring the video display and adjusting the density or contrast when required.
\nMonitoring patients during examinations to ensure their safety.
\nFollowing proper procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
\nProducing diagnostic images and reporting important information to the Physician.
\nUpdating patients\u2019 records accurately.
\nOrganizing daily procedure schedules, including emergency cases.
\nMonitoring radiographic supplies and ensuring availability when needed.
\nPerforming administrative tasks such as answering technical questions, scheduling appointments, and offering pre-procedure advice.
\nPerforming scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nApplicants should meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
Diploma in Radiology.
\nA valid license to practice radiography.
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
\nEmpathy and compassion when dealing with patients.
\nGood organizational and time management abilities.
\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail.
\nAbility to lift heavy weights without assistance.<\/p>\n
