Job Purpose
\nThe\u00a0Payable Accountant\u00a0will be responsible for managing the company\u2019s supplier invoices and payments accurately and on time.
\nThe role ensures that all payable transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and compliant with internal controls, company policies, and relevant financial regulations.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nInvoice Processing and Documentation
\nThe Payable Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that supplier invoices and related documents are processed accurately and efficiently.
\nKey duties include:<\/p>\n
Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and employee expense claims accurately and on time.
\nValidate invoices against purchase orders, contracts, goods received notes, and tax requirements.
\nVerify invoice details, approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.
\nEnsure invoices are recorded and coded correctly.<\/p>\n
Payments and Bank Reconciliation
\nThe role includes preparing and processing payments while ensuring accuracy and compliance with payment terms.
\nResponsibilities include:<\/p>\n
Prepare and process payment runs in line with agreed payment terms.
\nPost payments and reconcile bank clearance accounts on a timely basis.
\nPrepare payment forecasts, monitor variances, and explain significant movements.<\/p>\n
Supplier Account Management
\nThe successful candidate will support accurate supplier account management and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
\nDuties include:<\/p>\n
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
\nMaintain accurate vendor master data and ensure supporting documentation is kept in line with internal controls.
\nPerform monthly supplier reconciliations and follow up on corrective actions.<\/p>\n
Reporting and Month-End Support
\nThe Payable Accountant will support reporting, month-end closing activities, and cashflow planning.
\nResponsibilities include:<\/p>\n
Prepare monthly ageing reports for invoices, open purchase orders, and goods receipts.
\nSupport cashflow planning.
\nSupport month-end activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.<\/p>\n
Compliance, Controls, and Audit Support
\nThe role requires strong compliance awareness and support for internal and external audits.
\nKey duties include:<\/p>\n
Ensure compliance with withholding tax, VAT, company accounting policies, accounting standards, and tax requirements.
\nSupport internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
\nRespond to audit queries.
\nIdentify and support opportunities to strengthen financial controls.
\nHelp eliminate control weaknesses.
\nSupport automation initiatives to reduce manual work within the procure-to-pay cycle.<\/p>\n
Administrative Support
\nThe Payable Accountant will also support the smooth running of the Finance Department.
\nResponsibilities include:<\/p>\n
Assist with general office and administrative duties to maintain an efficient department.
\nCarry out any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.<\/p>\n
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

\nEducation and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
\nMinimum of 3 years of experience as a Payable Accountant in the manufacturing industry.
\nExperience using ERP or accounting systems such as SAP.<\/p>\n
Technical Skills<\/p>\n
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial controls.
\nProficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
\nAbility to handle high volumes of transactions and meet deadlines.
\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.<\/p>\n
