\nJob Purpose
\nThe Senior Trade Finance Manager (Corporate Banking) will be responsible for managing Trade Finance solutions structuring and leading a team of Trade Finance Managers responsible for the Corporate Banking portfolio.
\nThe role also involves driving working capital digital solutions and supporting business development for Corporate Banking clients in collaboration with Client Segment Coverage teams, Client Origination, Credit, Compliance, Trade Operations, and other cross-functional teams within the bank.
\nMain Responsibilities
\nTrade Finance
\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for the following:<\/p>\n
Oversee the origination of Trade Finance deals, including:<\/p>\n
Letters of credit
\nGuarantees
\nStructured Trade Finance facilities, including CMA
\nOther instruments supporting international and domestic trade<\/p>\n
Lead engagements with stakeholders, including financial institutions, to structure and secure competitive Trade Finance solutions.
\nManage Trade Finance assets and monitor utilization across sector-based portfolios.
\nDevelop and implement strategies to optimize working capital solutions, including:<\/p>\n
Supply Chain Finance
\nPre-shipment financing
\nStructured Trade and Commodity Finance
\nExport Agency Financing<\/p>\n
Support the analysis of cash conversion cycles and identify opportunities to improve working capital optimization.
\nCollaborate with finance, procurement, and sales teams to enhance payment terms that leverage the cash flow impact of business operations.<\/p>\n
Risk Management
\nThe successful candidate will be required to:<\/p>\n
Support the assessment of risks and risk mitigants associated with working capital, including:<\/p>\n
Credit risks
\nCurrency risks
\nCounterparty risks<\/p>\n
Contribute to policy development and implementation to reduce exposure to financial risks related to Trade Finance.
\nEnsure ongoing monitoring of portfolios and market dynamics that may adversely impact the asset book.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management
\nThe role will also involve the following responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Act as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on matters related to Trade Finance.
\nWork closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in executing strategies.
\nLiaise with auditors, regulators, and legal teams to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and guidelines.<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills
\nApplicants should possess the following knowledge and skills:<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge of Trade Finance instruments and working capital solutions.
\nProficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
\nKnowledge of global market dynamics impacting international trade.
\nKnowledge of International Chamber of Commerce rules governing Trade Finance instruments and other relevant regulations.
\nUnderstanding of emerging technologies associated with Trade Finance solutions.
\nLeadership and team management skills.
\nStrong Trade Finance structuring capabilities.
\nCredit risk skills.
\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\nAbility to thrive in a highly dynamic environment.
\nStakeholder management skills.
\nDigital solutions project management skills.
\nCommunication and negotiation skills.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience
\nApplicants should meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
\nMaster\u2019s degree in business studies will be an added advantage.
\nPostgraduate education in Banking and\/or Banking certification(s) will be an added advantage.
\nRelevant Trade Finance certifications will be an added advantage.
\nAt least 4 years of relevant experience and exposure to international trade.<\/p>\n
