The role also offers continuous learning, skill development and career growth opportunities through local and international mentors and training programmes.<br \/>\nKey responsibilities<br \/>\nThe Nurse-midwife will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<p>Providing prenatal and postpartum care for pregnant women.<br \/>\nTending to patients and newborns during labour and delivery.<br \/>\nPerforming routine gynaecological care, including examinations.<br \/>\nEducating patients on parenting and family planning.<br \/>\nMaintaining patient medical records.<br \/>\nCollaborating with other healthcare professionals.<br \/>\nReferring patients to specialists when necessary.<br \/>\nTesting for and diagnosing various medical conditions.<br \/>\nProviding emotional support for expectant and new mothers.<br \/>\nAdministering vaccinations to children under 5 years.<br \/>\nProviding all types of family planning methods to mothers.<br \/>\nWriting records.<br \/>\nTutoring student midwives.<br \/>\nIdentifying high-risk pregnancies.<br \/>\nMonitoring and administering medication, injections and intravenous infusions during labour.<br \/>\nPerforming any other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications, skills and competencies<br \/>\nApplicants should meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<p>A minimum of a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery.<br \/>\nNursing and Midwifery registration certificates from TNMC.<br \/>\nA valid nurse practising license.<br \/>\nMinimum of 3 years\u2019 working experience, preferably in a labour ward, RCH and operating theatre.<br \/>\nCompetence in managing obstetric emergencies.<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships with patients.<br \/>\nMicrosoft Office skills.<br \/>\nAbility to practise compassionate care, kindness and love towards patients.<br \/>\nGood written and spoken English and Kiswahili communication skills to help patients understand their options and potential implications.<br \/>\nCollaborative and teamwork skills to work effectively with other medical care providers.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
