NAD has head office in Oslo, Norway and branches in Zambia, Uganda and in Zanzibar.<br \/>\nIn Tanzania, NAD works closely with partners to promote disability rights and inclusive development.<br \/>\nPosition<br \/>\nTo support this ongoing work and ensure sound financial management across the Country Office and its partnerships, NAD Zanzibar is seeking a qualified Finance Officer.<br \/>\nPosition:\u00a0Finance OfficerLocation:\u00a0ZanzibarReports to:\u00a0Country Director<br \/>\nRole and responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Country Office Financial Management &amp; Controls:\u00a0Manage NAD Zanzibar\u2019s finances, maintaining strict controls, precise records, and ensuring accountability for all income and expenses. Responsibilities include payroll, statutory compliance, budget tracking and adjustments, cash and bank operations, and overseeing procurement and payments.<br \/>\nPartner Finance &amp; Subgrant Coordination:\u00a0Manage financial oversight of NAD\u2019s partner organisations by supporting budgeting, reviewing reports, ensuring compliance, and building capacity. Responsibilities include handling fund requests and transfers, supervising subgrants, and tracking advances and deferred grant income.<br \/>\nAnti-Corruption, Financial Assurance &amp; Follow-up:\u00a0Strengthen NAD Zanzibar\u2019s internal controls, build anti-corruption capacity for staff and partners, conduct financial reviews and spot checks, and follow up on audit findings and recommendations to ensure financial accountability.<br \/>\nStrategic Finance Contribution &amp; Sustainability:\u00a0Support NAD\u2019s long-term work in Tanzania by assisting with programme and proposal budgeting, participating in programme development, representing NAD Zanzibar in relevant finance forums, and engaging in shared learning within NAD\u2019s global finance team.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.<br \/>\nMinimum of six (6) years\u2019 experience in financial management, preferably within NGOs or donor-funded programs<br \/>\nProven experience working with donor requirements, partner organizations, and financial reporting for grants and subgrants.<br \/>\nGood knowledge of Tanzanian\/Zanzibar financial, tax, and labor regulations.<br \/>\nExperience supporting audits, financial reviews, and follow-up on audit findings and management letter recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>Skills, abilities and attitudes<\/p>\n<p>High level of integrity, accountability, and ethical judgment in financial management and decision-making.<br \/>\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to interpret financial information.<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and proactively while collaborating effectively with Programme, administration, and partner teams.<br \/>\nStrong communication skills in both English and Kiswahili, including the ability to explain financial matters to non-finance staff and partners.<br \/>\nCommitment to transparency, anti-corruption practices, and continuous learning, with willingness to support capacity building and organizational improvement.<\/p>\n<p>NAD\u2019S values<br \/>\nNAD\u2019s employees must have insight into and a willingness to promote NAD\u2019s values.
