It also ensures high portfolio quality, strong merchant utilization, and continuous business growth through cross-selling and strategic relationship management.<br \/>\nIn addition, the role provides leadership to the sales function by ensuring high team performance through clear targets, coaching, performance monitoring, and incentive structures.<br \/>\nThe role also ensures adherence to risk, compliance, and operational standards while working closely with operations and technology teams to deliver seamless service and reliable systems.<br \/>\nA strong focus is placed on improving strategic levels.<\/p>\n<p>Key responsibilities<br \/>\nSales strategy and revenue growth<br \/>\nThe role will be responsible for:<\/p>\n<p>Developing and executing the merchant acquiring sales strategy to grow transaction volumes, revenues, and market share.<br \/>\nSetting sales targets, monitoring performance, and ensuring consistent achievement of financial goals.<br \/>\nIdentifying new markets, business segments, and payment opportunities for expansion.<\/p>\n<p>Merchant acquisition and portfolio management<br \/>\nThe role will involve:<\/p>\n<p>Overseeing the acquisition of new merchants across priority sectors.<br \/>\nEnsuring high-quality onboarding, training, and activation of merchants to drive usage.<br \/>\nManaging and growing the existing merchant portfolio through strong relationship management.<br \/>\nCross-selling additional payment solutions to merchants.<\/p>\n<p>Product and market positioning<br \/>\nThe Sales Manager \u2013 Acquiring will:<\/p>\n<p>Work growth.<\/p>\n<p>Risk, compliance, and operational excellence<br \/>\nThe role will require the candidate to:<\/p>\n<p>Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, KYC requirements, and risk frameworks.<br \/>\nWork with operations and IT teams to ensure smooth deployment of POS devices.<br \/>\nSupport system uptime and timely issue resolution.<br \/>\nStrengthen fraud prevention practices within the merchant ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Customer experience and service delivery<br \/>\nThe Sales Manager \u2013 Acquiring will:<\/p>\n<p>Champion merchant experience by ensuring timely responses to issues.<br \/>\nProvide proactive support and clear communication to merchants.<br \/>\nDrive initiatives that reduce transaction failures, chargebacks, and service downtime.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting and performance insights<br \/>\nThe role includes responsibility for:<\/p>\n<p>Preparing sales performance dashboards, revenue reports, and pipeline updates for management.<br \/>\nUsing data analytics to support decisions on merchant performance, attrition, and optimization.<\/p>\n<p>Technical skills and competencies<br \/>\nRequired skills and third-party suppliers, including technology suppliers.<br \/>\nUp-to-date knowledge of industry-related developments.<\/p>\n<p>Experience, qualifications, and other requirements<br \/>\nEssential requirements<br \/>\nCandidates must have:<\/p>\n<p>Satisfaction of the FSA criteria for an approved person, both initially and on an ongoing basis.<br \/>\nA minimum of 3 years of sales experience with a proven track record of achievement and high performance.<br \/>\nProven success in negotiation within a corporate environment.<\/p>\n<p>Preferred requirements<br \/>\nCandidates may also have:<\/p>\n<p>Experience in the Business-to-Business Financial Services sector.<br \/>\nKnowledge of the Card Acquiring industry, which would be an advantage but is not essential.<\/p>\n<p>Key issues over the next 12 to 24 months<br \/>\nThe successful candidate should be prepared for the following:<\/p>\n<p>Competition is expected to become stronger, with more aggressive strategies in most markets.<br \/>\nFlexibility will be required to work under challenging deadlines when they arise.<br \/>\nThe role is itinerant, and office space will not be available.<br \/>\nTravel within the
