Building disciplined, compliant, and people-centered HR systems is central to this growth.<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will play a hands-on role in supporting the operational excellence and people systems that sustain Silverleaf Academy\u2019s mission.<br \/>\nRole Overview<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will support the daily execution of core Human Resources functions, including recruitment, payroll administration, compliance, employee engagement, and HR data management.<br \/>\nThis internship is designed to provide practical and structured exposure to HR operations within a growing education institution. The role requires organizational discipline, confidentiality, professionalism, and strong attention to detail.<br \/>\nThe successful candidate will gain real-world experience in HR administration while contributing meaningfully to employee experience and institutional compliance.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\nRecruitment and onboarding support<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will support recruitment and onboarding activities by:<\/p>\n<p>Assisting in drafting and posting job advertisements.<br \/>\nSupporting candidate shortlisting and interview coordination.<br \/>\nPreparing onboarding documentation.<br \/>\nAssisting with new hire orientation.<br \/>\nMaintaining recruitment trackers and candidate databases.<\/p>\n<p>Payroll and HR administration<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will support payroll and general HR administration by:<\/p>\n<p>Supporting the collection and verification of attendance records, leave records, and payroll inputs.<br \/>\nAssisting in ensuring accurate and timely payroll documentation.<br \/>\nMaintaining up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and performance documentation.<br \/>\nSupporting leave management tracking and reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Compliance and policy support<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will assist with compliance and policy-related duties by:<\/p>\n<p>Helping ensure compliance with Tanzanian labor laws and internal HR policies.<br \/>\nSupporting updates to HR policies and employee handbooks when required.<br \/>\nMaintaining organized documentation for statutory and regulatory purposes.<br \/>\nSupporting audit preparation and HR file standardization.<\/p>\n<p>Employee relations and staff welfare<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will support employee relations and staff welfare initiatives by:<\/p>\n<p>Supporting the coordination of employee benefits and welfare initiatives.<br \/>\nAssisting in tracking and documenting employee concerns or grievances.<br \/>\nProviding administrative support during mediation or conflict resolution processes.<br \/>\nSupporting engagement activities that strengthen workplace culture.<\/p>\n<p>Training, development and reporting<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will support training, development, and reporting activities by:<\/p>\n<p>Assisting in coordinating staff training sessions.<br \/>\nTracking staff participation in training activities.<br \/>\nMaintaining training records and development logs.<br \/>\nSupporting the generation of HR reports, including turnover, attendance trends, and training hours.<br \/>\nAssisting in maintaining HR dashboards and workforce data trackers.<\/p>\n<p>Exit process administration<br \/>\nThe HR Intern will support employee exit processes by:<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating exit interviews and clearance processes.<br \/>\nEnsuring documentation for terminations aligns with legal and organizational requirements.<br \/>\nMaintaining updated exit records and reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Skills<br \/>\nCandidates should have the following qualifications and skills:<\/p>\n<p>Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.<br \/>\nBasic understanding of Tanzanian labor laws and HR principles.<br \/>\nStrong organizational and documentation skills.<br \/>\nHigh level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.<br \/>\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.<br \/>\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili.<br \/>\nDetail-oriented, disciplined, and proactive approach to work.<br \/>\nInterest in education and commitment to Silverleaf Academy\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n<p>Learning and Development Outcomes<br \/>\nBy the end of the internship, the HR Intern will:<\/p>\n<p>Gain hands-on experience in full-cycle HR operations.<br \/>\nDevelop a practical understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements.<br \/>\nBuild competency in recruitment coordination and employee documentation.<br \/>\nLearn to manage HR data and reporting systems.<br \/>\nStrengthen professional communication, discretion, and organizational skills.<\/p>\n<p>High-performing interns may be considered for extended or permanent opportunities within Silverleaf Academy.<br \/>\nValues Alignment<br \/>\nThe HR Intern is expected to embody Silverleaf Academy\u2019s core values:<br \/>\nLead the way<br \/>\nDemonstrate integrity, professionalism, and accountability.<br \/>\nSpeak, listen, and learn<br \/>\nCommunicate openly and collaborate effectively.<br \/>\nAsk why and why not<br \/>\nSeek continuous improvement in HR processes.<br \/>\nBuild for the future<br \/>\nSupport systems that enable sustainable growth.<br \/>\nMission focus<br \/>\nProtect and strengthen the people who deliver student outcomes.<br \/>\nWhy This Role Matters<br \/>\nAs Silverleaf Academy prepares for enrollment expansion and institutional growth, strong HR systems are essential.
