\nPosition Summary
\nThe Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support immigration processes.
\nThe role involves creating efficient, secure, and user-friendly applications for case management, visa processing, and compliance tracking. The Software Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that systems meet business needs, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
\nKey Responsibilities
\nSoftware Development<\/p>\n
Write, test, and maintain high-quality code for immigration-related applications and systems.
\nDevelop secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions that support mission-critical operations.<\/p>\n
System Integration<\/p>\n
Develop and integrate APIs to connect immigration platforms with external systems.
\nSupport integration with systems such as:<\/p>\n
Biometric data systems
\nPayment gateways
\nOther relevant immigration and aviation platforms<\/p>\n
User Interface Design<\/p>\n
Create intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
\nDesign interfaces suitable for clients, immigration officers, and other system users.<\/p>\n
Troubleshooting and Performance Improvement<\/p>\n
Identify, investigate, and resolve software bugs.
\nDiagnose and fix performance issues across applications and systems.
\nSupport continuous improvement of software stability and reliability.<\/p>\n
Collaboration<\/p>\n
Work closely with:<\/p>\n
Database administrators
\nSystem administrators
\nOther software developers
\nCross-functional project teams<\/p>\n
Ensure seamless functionality across integrated systems.<\/p>\n
Documentation<\/p>\n

\nCybersecurity best practices<\/p>\n
Requirements
\nEducation<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
3\u20135 years of experience in software development.
\nExperience in industries that handle sensitive data is preferred, including:<\/p>\n
Legal
\nGovernment
\nImmigration
\nAviation<\/p>\n
Technical Skills and Knowledge
\nApplicants should have:<\/p>\n
Proficiency in programming languages such as:<\/p>\n
Java

Experience with web development frameworks such as:<\/p>\n
Angular

\nDjango<\/p>\n
Familiarity with Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS).

Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
\nKnowledge of Agile methodologies.
\nProficiency in database integration and query optimization.
\nKnowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.<\/p>\n

\nStrong communication skills.
\nAbility to work in a fast-paced and mission-critical environment.
\nFluency in both English and Kiswahili, spoken and written.<\/p>\n
