Responsibility:

\nKey Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
The successful candidate is expected to be able to work independently, perform specialized and complex professional accounting responsibilities requiring extensive knowledge and understanding of accepted accounting principles and procedures. He\/she shall be responsible for assisting the Director of Finance in executing some or all of following duties<\/p>\n
Analyse financial transactions to determine accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting standards
\nPrepare, analyse, and interpret financial reports, statements, and records (e.g., balance sheets, profit and loss statements, amortization (paying back\/off) and depreciation schedules, etc.
\nAssemble data for and create financial projections
\nDevelop, implement, modify, and document accounting systems
\nEstablishment and implementation of new or revised accounting policies and procedures; formulation of goals and priorities in assigned area(s)
\nSupervision of the collection, recording, processing, consolidation, and distribution of a wide variety of financial and statistical reports, statements and summaries.
\nMay be responsible for long-range fiscal planning and policy making.
\nResponsibility for all aspects of management of staff in area(s) of responsibility.
\nReconcile accounts
\nEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted accounting policies and procedures
\nResolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
\nContinuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
\nMonitor and support taxation issues
\nDevelop and maintain financial data bases
\nFinancial audit preparation and coordinate the audit process
\nEnsure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
\nAssists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including \u201cBudget vs. Actual\u201d variance reports Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
\nAssist with completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings; preparation of assigned Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statement pages\/schedules.
\nAssisting with orienting and training employees.
\nAssisting with planning, assigning, and directing work.
\nParticipating in coaching and appraising performance.
\nAssisting with addressing complaints and resolving problems.
\nAny other related duties assigned by the Director of Finance or other competent University authority.<\/p>\n

\nAbility to acquire a thorough understanding and knowledge of University policies and procedures and the ability to apply that information to a variety of situations.

Qualification Required:
\nDesired Educational QualificationsHolders of Bachelor\u2019s degree in-
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Accountancy
\nBachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Finance)
\nBachelor of Accounting and Finance
\nBachelor of Accounting and Taxation
\nFrom an accredited college or university or any other qualification recognized as its equivalent, plus\u00a0Certified Public Accountant {CPA (T)},\u00a0Association of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), with at least\u00a0four (4) years\u00a0working experience in the field of accounting from a reputable Accounting firm or organisation. Must be registered by the\u00a0National Board of Accountants and Auditors as a Graduate Accountant (GA).
\nPossession of Master\u2019s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting or any other qualifications recognised as equivalent will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Experience :
\nWith at least four (4) years working experience in the field of accounting from a reputable Accounting firm or organisation<\/p>\n
