Job Summary
\nThe General Manager of the WTW Water Center will provide strategic vision and oversee daily operations to ensure high-quality guest experiences, effective staff management, and strong partner development.<\/p>\n
The role includes managing logistics, budgeting, service standards, storytelling, and guest engagement practices. A strong background in cross-cultural communication, fundraising, leadership, and creative guest experiences is essential.
\nKey focus areas include:<\/p>\n
Operations and logistics:\u00a0Oversee all operations, including scheduling, logistics, inventory, global shipping, and customs processes for WTW Filter Build and Water Center activities.
\nGuest experience:\u00a0Ensure high service standards, create high-impact touchpoints, and develop immersion experiences and workshops that inspire people to support the WTW mission.
\nStaff management:\u00a0Recruit, train, and develop an inspiring team to host guests, facilitate workshops, and tell the WTW story.
\nFinancial management:\u00a0Prepare and manage budgets and financial reporting.
\nMarketing and partner development:\u00a0Maintain and build partner relationships to develop a fundraising platform through the Water Center that advances the WTW clean water mission.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities
\nOperational Leadership
\nThe General Manager will coordinate all logistics, scheduling, inventory management, site development, maintenance, and retail shop operations as part of the Water Center.
\nThis includes working closely with WTW US operations, global shipping, and finance teams to build a model for operational sustainability under the leadership of the Africa Regional Director.
\nGuest Experience
\nThe General Manager will be part of a collaborative team launching the Water Center in 2026 and will lead ongoing phases to enhance visitor engagement through innovative, hands-on experiences and educational programming.<\/p>\n
Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n
Personally hosting groups of high-profile guests.
\nEstablishing protocol and best-practice guidelines for group facilitation.
\nTraining and leading staff to deliver impactful workshops.
\nInspiring guests to take the next step with WTW.
\nSetting the tone for enthusiasm and meaningful guest involvement.<\/p>\n
Partner Development
\nThe role requires ongoing communication, feedback, and reporting with WTW and key partners to improve and develop guest experiences.
\nThe General Manager will also foster relationships with:<\/p>\n
Donors
\nSponsors
\nCorporate partners
\nKey stakeholders within the WTW network<\/p>\n
These relationships will support the expansion of WTW\u2019s network and revenue streams.
\nDonor Engagement
\nThe General Manager will work with WTW US to develop donor engagement tools and support donor and lead generation using database systems, including Salesforce.
\nResponsibilities include:<\/p>\n
Incorporating storytelling into the guest experience.
\nSupporting the follow-up journey for guests.
\nFundraising for WTW projects.
\nSupporting water initiatives within Tanzania.<\/p>\n
Collaboration
\nThe General Manager will collaborate with WTW Tanzania and WTW US to tell the WTW story through the Water Center.
\nThe role will also support the development of new initiatives for guest engagement.
\nFinancial Management
\nThe General Manager will manage budgets, revenue generation, and financial reporting.
\nThe role is responsible for:<\/p>\n
Meeting target goals.
\nOptimizing costs.
\nMaintaining the quality of the guest experience.
\nSupporting financial sustainability.<\/p>\n
Staff Leadership
\nThe General Manager will recruit, train, onboard, and mentor a diverse team of hosts and center staff.
\nThis includes:<\/p>\n
Enforcing best practices.
\nBuilding cultural sensitivity within the team.
\nEnsuring staff can connect with and inspire guests effectively.<\/p>\n
Safety And Compliance
\nThe General Manager will ensure adherence to health, safety, and local regulations.
\nThis includes maintaining quality control protocols for the DROP Filter assembly process.
\nRequirements
\nExperience<\/p>\n
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
\nExperience in global tourism or a high-end lodge setting is preferred.<\/p>\n
