\nFema Mining and Drilling Limited is seeking a highly organized and technically competent\u00a0Maintenance Planner\u00a0to join its team.
\nThe Maintenance Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for mining equipment, drilling rigs, and support machinery.
\nThe role aims to ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
\nKey responsibilities
\nThe Maintenance Planner will be responsible for the following duties:<\/p>\n
Develop and maintain detailed maintenance schedules, including:<\/p>\n
Preventive maintenance
\nPredictive maintenance
\nCorrective maintenance<\/p>\n
Prepare maintenance schedules for all heavy mining equipment, drill rigs, vehicles, and plant machinery.
\nCreate work orders, job plans, and maintenance procedures in the CMMS.
\nCoordinate with Maintenance Supervisors, Technicians, Operations teams, and external contractors to ensure timely execution of maintenance activities.
\nPrepare weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance plans and forecasts.
\nAnalyze equipment history, failure data, and performance trends to optimize maintenance strategies.
\nEnsure all maintenance activities comply with:<\/p>\n
Safety standards
\nOEM recommendations
\nCompany policies<\/p>\n
Manage spare parts inventory by identifying:<\/p>\n
Critical spares
\nMinimum stock levels
\nProcurement needs<\/p>\n
Track maintenance KPIs, including:<\/p>\n
MTBF
\nMTTR
\nEquipment availability
\nBacklog<\/p>\n
Participate in shutdown planning and major overhauls for drilling and mining equipment.
\nLiaise with suppliers and service providers for technical support and spare parts sourcing.
\nContinuously improve maintenance planning processes and implement best practices.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and experience
\nApplicants should meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
\nMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance planning, preferably in the mining, drilling, or heavy equipment industry.
\nProven experience working with heavy mobile equipment, including:<\/p>\n
Excavators
\nDump trucks
\nDrill rigs
\nDozers
\nOther related heavy equipment<\/p>\n
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with CMMS systems, such as:<\/p>\n
SAP
\nPronto
\nFiix
\nOr similar systems<\/p>\n
Certification in Maintenance Planning or Reliability Engineering, such as CMRP, will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Skills and competencies
\nThe ideal candidate should have the following skills and competencies:<\/p>\n
Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills.
\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
\nGood understanding of mining equipment maintenance practices and reliability principles.
\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and CMMS software.
\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and OEM specifications.
\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
\nAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
\nKnowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and ISO 45001.
\nHigh level of integrity and attention to detail.<\/p>\n
