\nPosition Overview:
\nWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer to play a pivotal role in strategic decision-making, ensuring efficient operations, driving key initiatives, and overseeing business development activities to foster the growth of Unicaf University.
\nChief Operating Officer
\nReporting to the Vice-Chancellor in liaison with international managers, and supervising a small team of professionals, the incumbent will be expected to deliver on the following roles and responsibilities.
\nRole and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Act as a strategic advisor to the University\u2019s leadership, providing insights, risk assessments, and recommendations.
\nCoordinate and streamline internal communications, ensuring alignment with the University\u2019s vision and goals.
\nOversee and manage key projects, ensuring timely completion and effectiveness.
\nLiaise with various departments, ensuring operational cohesion and efficiency.
\nRepresent the University in external meetings and forums as required.
\nPrepare and present reports on strategic initiatives, progress, and challenges.
\nMentor and guide staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
\nLead and oversee business development activities, identifying opportunities for expansion and partnerships.
\nDrive initiatives aimed at the growth and expansion of the institution, ensuring sustainability and alignment with the University\u2019s mission.
\nPlanning, organising and directing all activities associated with Finance,
\nAdministration and Operations.
\nDeveloping, implementation and review of Finance, Administration and Human Resource Policies, Procedures and Systems and ensure effective internal controls.
\nCoordinating the preparation of the University budget.
\nServing the Local Advisory Board and University Council committees.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
\nExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
\nProven track record of managing complex projects and initiatives.
\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to rapid change.
\nRelevant Bachelor degree e.g. in Finance, Management, Administration. A Master\u2019s qualification will be considered an advantage
\nMinimum of five years senior administrative \/ financial management and leadership experience in the public or private sector
\nProven track record of effectively interacting with senior management and
\ngovernance structures
\nAbility to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
\nEffective, versatile and action-oriented<\/p>\n
