Purpose of the role:
\nTo Assist with the management of Account Receivables, performing account reconciliations, maintaining general ledger, ensure that all receipts have been posted and allocated correctly.
\nJob Overview:<\/p>\n
Fixed Asset Management:\u00a0Oversee the company\u2019s fixed asset portfolio, ensuring accurate record-keeping, valuation, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
\nVAT management:\u00a0Efficient management of VAT reconciliations, compliance and Other statutory obligations.
\nSundry Trade Creditors:\u00a0Overseeing financial transactions related to accrued expenses.<\/p>\n

\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:
\nThe accountant will be required to perform the following tasks:
\nFixed Asset Management:
\nAsset Recording and Tracking<\/p>\n
Ensure the accurate recording and classification of fixed assets in the company\u2019s asset register.
\nMaintain an up-to-date and comprehensive asset register, ensuring all additions, disposals, transfers, and impairments are correctly recorded.<\/p>\n
Depreciation and Valuation:<\/p>\n
Calculate and record depreciation for fixed assets in line with accounting policies, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).<\/p>\n
Compliance and Reporting:<\/p>\n
Prepare and submit accurate fixed asset reports, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and accounting standards.<\/p>\n
VAT Management:<\/p>\n
VAT Compliance: Ensure the company is fully compliant with VAT regulations and requirements by preparing and submitting accurate VAT returns on time.<\/p>\n
Other Statutory obligations:<\/p>\n
Oversee the calculation, deduction, and remittance of PAYE taxes and NAPSA from employees\u2019 wages.<\/p>\n
Withholding Tax Administration:<\/p>\n
Manage the calculation and deduction of withholding taxes for applicable transactions and payments.<\/p>\n
Tax Audits and Compliance:<\/p>\n
Prepare for and participate in tax audits conducted by tax authorities.<\/p>\n
Sundry Trade Creditors:
\nRecording Accruals<\/p>\n
Record journal entries for accrued revenues and expenses, ensuring accuracy in both the timing and amount.<\/p>\n
Reconciliation<\/p>\n
Month end closing reconciliation of accrual accounts to ensure that all accrued transactions are properly reflected in the ledger.<\/p>\n
Reporting:<\/p>\n
Ad-hoc Analysis:\u00a0Perform detailed COS Analysis (Production overheads and Transport\/Freight) for accurate cost & branch recognition.
\nInternal Controls:\u00a0Ensure proper internal controls are maintained around Fixed Asset Management and VAT processes to minimize risk of errors or fraud.<\/p>\n

Ensure Kenkijin philosophy, values, principles, and behaviors are promoted and established through the business unit.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Must have Grade 12 General Certificate of Education
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce
\nA professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ZICA) is desirable
\nA member of ZICA.
\nMinimum four (4) to five (5) years\u2019 experience
\nZambia Qualifications Authority Validated Qualifications.
\nMembership to the relevant body is a requirement.<\/p>\n
Job Specific Competencies<\/p>\n
Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
\nUp-to-date knowledge of relevant Zambian laws and regulations.
\nExperience in Fixed Assets and VAT management.
\nStrong knowledge of VAT regulations and accounting principles.
\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel and other financial reporting tools.
\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.
\nExcellent organizational and communication skills.
\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines<\/p>\n
Duration: Two (2) years Fixed-term contract
