Job Summary
\nThe Respiratory Health Clinician is responsible for screening, diagnosing, and managing patients with respiratory conditions at various project sites. The role involves providing quality patient care, conducting outreach screenings, interpreting diagnostic tests, referring complex cases, and ensuring accurate documentation of clinical data. Additionally, the clinician will be actively involved in research studies, patient counseling, and adherence to Good Clinical Practices while maintaining strict confidentiality and accountability for project resources.
\nMain duties<\/p>\n
Screens patients with respiratory conditions at all project sites.
\nProvides basic treatment for respiratory illnesses according to standard treatment guidelines.
\nEnsures high-quality patient care and effective management of respiratory cases.
\nConducts outreach screenings in workplaces and communities as needed.
\nIdentify and recruit participants for research studies, ensuring proper informed consent procedures.
\nInterprets laboratory results, spirometry, 6MWT, and chest X-rays to make clinical decisions.
\nRefer challenging respiratory cases to medical officers and respiratory physicians.
\nEnsures timely referral of patients requiring specialized services at tertiary institutions.
\nProvides counseling on smoking cessation, treatment adherence, risk reduction, and psychosocial support.
\nEducates patients and caregivers on respiratory conditions and their management.
\nEnsures accurate completion of clinical study forms (both electronic and hard copy).
\nPerforms quality control (QC) checks on data and study forms.
\nMaintains proper records of respiratory diagnoses and collaborate with data associates for database updates.
\nAssists in writing reports and preparing for monitoring visits.
\nFollows Good Clinical Practices and research protocols.
\nMaintains strict confidentiality and privacy of patients\/participants.
\nAccountable for project resources, including ICT equipment, spirometers, data collection forms, and study supplies.
\nEnsures proper handling and storage of participant files and research materials.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences
\nValid practicing certificate under the Health Professions Council of Zambia
\nMinimum 4 years\u2019 experience in clinical management of TB and other respiratory conditions
\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.<\/p>\n
