LICS holds in high esteem its vision statement which is to \u201cmaximise the potential of future world citizens\u201d.<br \/>\nLICS is a leading independent pre-primary, primary, and secondary school based in the leafy suburb of Roma in Lusaka, Zambia. It is also a member of CIS, AISA, and ISAZ.<br \/>\nThe school currently has an opening in the Secondary School and is looking for a suitably qualified individual to join the LICS community as an Art Teacher with effect 1 August 2025.<br \/>\n1. Requirements<\/p>\n<p>At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience.<br \/>\nDemonstrate excellent subject and\/or specialist knowledge.<br \/>\nHave a full understanding of connections and progressions in the subject and use this in their teaching to ensure pupils make good progress.<br \/>\nUnderstand the application and use of ICT in their specialist subjects.<\/p>\n<p>2. Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in education with Arts (QTS), \/PGCE or equivalent<br \/>\nAdditional qualifications are relevant to the role.<\/p>\n<p>4. Key Responsibilities\/Accountabilities<br \/>\n4.1 Planning and Setting Expectations<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrate an excellent ability to plan.<br \/>\nPrepare lessons and sequences of lessons with clear objectives to ensure successful learning by all students.<br \/>\nConsistently set high expectations for students in general school life and their academics<br \/>\nPlan teaching to ensure it builds on the current and previous achievements of students and is centered on best practice<\/p>\n<p>4.2 Teaching and Managing Pupil Learning<\/p>\n<p>Demonstrate an excellent ability to teach, manage students, and maintain discipline.<br \/>\nEnsure lessons are engaging and challenging for all ability levels.<br \/>\nUnderstand and use the most effective teaching methods to achieve teaching objectives.<br \/>\nDisplay flair and creativity in engaging, enthusing, and challenging groups of students.<br \/>\nDevelop students\u2019 literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills as appropriate within their phase and context.<br \/>\nProvide positive and targeted support for students who have special educational needs, are very able, lack confidence, have behavioural difficulties, or are disaffected.<br \/>\nBe aware of which students are on the gifted and talented register or are highly able \u2013 and provide an appropriate level of challenge for these students.<br \/>\nEnsure that the secondary school environment is safe, well maintained, and in keeping with the health and safety policies.<\/p>\n<p>4.3 Pastoral Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>within the school environment and while chaperoning on school trips and events.<br \/>\n\u25cf Undertake child protection and safeguarding training relevant to the role.<br \/>\nPlay an active role in the care, well-being, and safeguarding of all students.<br \/>\nUndertake child protection and safeguarding training relevant to the role.<br \/>\nProactively act on concerns, reporting immediately using the relevant school procedures.<br \/>\nDemonstrate care, empathy, and respect for all students.<br \/>\nActively support and encourage students to create, develop and maintain healthy friendships.<br \/>\nTo actively support all school systems of recording and reporting concerns regarding student welfare, including child protection and safeguarding.<br \/>\nAct as a good role model to all students.<br \/>\nActively participate in the school\u2019s House System.<br \/>\nAttend trips and outdoor educational activities to support students\u2019 personal development.<br \/>\nTake part in extracurricular activities and enrichment program<br \/>\nModel good practice to students, promoting the values as set out in the school\u2019s mission statement.<br \/>\nConsistently apply school policies to reinforce positive behaviour.<\/p>\n<p>5.
