\nAbout the role:
\nOur Client is looking for a Purchasing Associate to buy products that are essential for their company\u2019s day-to-day operations. He\/she will review prices and quality and ensure optimal stock levels. Purchasing Associate responsibilities include evaluating vendors, negotiating contracts and preparing reports (e.g. on orders and costs.) For this role, you should have good knowledge of market research, along with solid analytical skills to make sure you\u2019re identifying the most profitable offers. Ultimately, he\/she will create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure merchandise is high quality and delivered on time.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Research potential vendors
\nCompare and evaluate offers from suppliers
\nNegotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing
\nTrack orders and ensure timely delivery
\nReview quality of purchased products
\nEnter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
\nMaintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
\nPrepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
\nMonitor stock levels and place orders as needed
\nCoordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
\nAttend trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends<\/p>\n
Desired Skills and Experience\u00a0<\/p>\n
BSc in Logistics, Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration or relevant field
\nProven work experience as a Purchasing Associate, Purchase agent or similar role
\nGood knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
\nHands-on experience with purchasing software (e.g. Procurify or SpendMap)
\nUnderstanding of supply chain procedures
\nSolid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
\nNegotiation skills<\/p>\n
Compensation:
\nThe incumbent will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
