\nNorth Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited (NWWSSCL) is a utility company dedicated to providing sustainable water supply and sanitation services in North Western Province. To support its governance and operational effectiveness, NWWSSCL seeks to recruit a highly competent and self-motivated individual to the position of\u00a0Internal Auditor.
\nThe Opportunity
\nThe Internal Auditor will oversee and manage the internal audit function to ensure financial and operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective governance. The role involves providing strategic guidance, implementing audit frameworks, and creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within NWWSSCL.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Develop and implement an annual audit plan, ensuring alignment with key risks and organizational objectives.
\nEstablish and review internal audit policies, procedures, and systems to ensure regulatory and professional compliance.
\nEvaluate and monitor the effectiveness of internal controls, financial processes, and operational policies.
\nOversee audit assignments and ensure timely, factual reporting for informed decision-making.
\nPrepare and present audit findings to management and the Audit Committee, providing recommendations for improvement.
\nVerify institutional assets for accountability and conduct assessments on fraud, irregularities, and malpractices.
\nCollaborate with departments, external auditors, and assurance providers to enhance audit effectiveness.
\nProvide advisory support on governance, compliance, and best practices for continuous improvement.
\nUndertake additional tasks as assigned by the Managing Director or Audit Committee.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Grade Twelve (12) or Form Five (5) with 5 \u201cO\u201d levels, Credit or better, and should include English and Mathematics.
\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
\nACCA, CIMA, CA Zambia, CIA, or equivalent professional qualification.
\nMinimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
\nMembership with ZICA and\/or IIA is mandatory.
\nExcellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.<\/p>\n
