PURPOSE
\nThis exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander Zambia to supervise the
\nexecution of the contractual activities on Tailing Dams (Tailings Storage Facility)
\ndeposition and remining projects while upholding the company standard, assist in
\nplanning activities, organising resources, leading people and controlling risks,
\ncosts and deviations to ensure the achievement of the mining or deposition plan in
\nrespect of quality, productivity, efficiency and financial requirements.
\nRESPONSIBILITIES
\nOperate Sites<\/p>\n
Allocate and schedule resources (Plant\/Materials\/Labour).
\nIdentify risks associated with resources and take preventative measures.
\nExecute deposition or mining plan as per the operating procedure and Code of
\nPractice for the Tailings Dam (Tailings Storage Facility).
\nEnsure that handovers of activities or shifts are properly done.
\nEnsure that daily or shift production targets are met.
\nRecords and reports to the Site Manager on daily progress or events.
\nSupervise subcontractors or plant hire works and report on status and
\nprogress.<\/p>\n
Supervision<\/p>\n
Coach the staff to create knowledge and experience.
\nEnsure that the company\u2019s disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures
\nare properly applied to your subordinates.
\nMotivate staff to achieve buy-in on the decisions made and improve
\nproductivity and efficiency.
\nCommunicate performance standards to your subordinates.
\nTrack and improve performance\/production against targets.
\nCorrect poor performance through counselling, coaching and discipline.<\/p>\n
Health and Safety<\/p>\n
Always act safely.
\nAdhere to FA and client policies and procedures.
\nReport unsafe conditions and behaviours.
\nAttend pre-shift meetings.<\/p>\n
Financial and Cost Control<\/p>\n
Report availability and utilisation of people and machinery (Including mobile
\nplant).
\nControl the material and equipment issues and maintain proof of the issuing of the same.
\nControl and maintain overtime within the requirements and roster.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
Diploma \/ Degree \u2013 Metallurgy\/ Mining\/ Civil\/ Geology\/ Geotech or Chemical Engineering.
\nGrade Twelve (12) School Certificate.
\nMRD101 (Added advantage)
\nSupervisory Course
\nOperational Skills Programme (Slimes Reclamation\/Tailings Dam Operations)
\nValid driver\u2019s license with a clean driving record.<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
3-5 years\u2019 experience in mining\/construction\/tailings operations
\n2 years\u2019 experience in a Supervisory role<\/p>\n

Knowledge of Tailings Dam Operations (Tailing Storage Facility)
