Freddie Ricx Consults is looking for a site-based Quantity Surveyor to be part of the commercial team on the healthcare project in Petauke, Eastern Province-Zambia for a period of 12-15months.
\nAs a site-based quantity surveyor, you will be the eyes and ears of the commercial team to monitor progress and report to the Principal Quantity Surveyor any potential risks on the construction budget. Additionally, you will attend site meetings and from time to time represent the business.
\nYour tasks<\/p>\n
Understanding client requirements and work to assist client realize their visionTaking and recording measurements on site for valuations of work done, cost reporting and final account
\nAttend site meetings and represent the business on site
\nIdentifying site related risks that could potentially impact both programme and budget.
\nMonitoring and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
\nDrafting and providing progress reports for submission to Client
\nCollaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money.
\nYou will also, from time to time, assist the commercial team with other assignments other than the healthcare project as required.<\/p>\n
Required skills and qualifications<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in quantity surveying or construction management with 3-5years of experience.
\nSound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations and standards.
\nProficiency in cost management techniques.
\nFamiliarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.
\nProficiency in Excel, AutoCAD or any QS software in extracting quantities from the drawings.
\nAbility to manage multiple project stakeholders simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively.
\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities.
\nAptitude for learning and development.<\/p>\n
Preferred skills and qualifications<\/p>\n
Professional membership with the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveying \u2013 ZIQS
\nKnowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
\nFamiliarity with contract law and construction contracts.
\nAttention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
\nStrong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.<\/p>\n
