\nPOSITION: LIBRARIAN
\nLIAS University College has over 10 years of experience in training Health professionals at Diploma level and now Degrees. Having stood a test of time University College has up to date, qualified over 6, 000 Registered Nurses and Clinical Officers. The Institution has set itself on a firm expansion course and a Librarian vacancy has emerged with this phenomenon.
\nLibrary Management and Leadership<\/p>\n
Develops and implements the library\u2019s strategic plan in alignment with the College\u2019s mission and goals.
\nEnsures the efficient and effective operation of all library services, including circulation, reference, and digital resources.<\/p>\n
Supervision of Information Technology and Digital Services<\/p>\n
Oversees the development and implementation of the library\u2019s technology infrastructure.
\nManages the library\u2019s website and online resources.
\nPromotes the use of technology to enhance library services and user experience.
\nStays current with emerging technologies and their applications in libraries.<\/p>\n
Library Facilities and Operations<\/p>\n
Oversees the physical facilities and operations of the library, including space planning, equipment maintenance, and security.
\nEnsures a safe and welcoming environment for library users.
\nDevelops and implements library policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Collection Development and Management<\/p>\n
Develops and implements collection development policies and procedures.
\nSelects, acquires, and manages the library\u2019s print and electronic collections to support the curriculum and research needs of the College community.
\nEnsures the preservation and conservation of the library\u2019s collections.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATION<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Library and Information Science
\nMinimum of 5 years of experience of which at least 2 years must be in Library Administration
\nDemonstrated Leadership and Management Skills
\nStrong Knowledge of Library Automation Systems and Technologies
\nExcellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
\nAbility to work collaboratively with staff and students<\/p>\n
Required Skills:<\/p>\n
Strong organizational and planning skills
\nExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously
\nKnowledge of copyright and intellectual property law
\nProficiency in library automation systems and databases
\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills
