Located in a beautiful setting in rural Zambia the school comprises both Primary and Secondary sections as well as an Outdoor Education Centre.<br \/>\nPOSITION AVAILABLE: DEPUTY HEAD OF SECONDARY<br \/>\nThe Deputy Head of Secondary School plays a critical role in the leadership and management of Chengelo Secondary School. Working closely with the Head of Secondary, this position provides strategic oversight and day-to-day operational leadership across all areas of school life, with a particular focus on driving excellence in both academic and pastoral domains.<br \/>\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<br \/>\nStrategic Leadership and School Development: Support the Head of Secondary in setting the direction and priorities for the Secondary School.<br \/>\nLeadership of Senior Pastoral and Academic Teams: Line manage the Head of Academics and Head of Pastoral Care, holding them accountable for their respective areas.<br \/>\nOperational Management: Support the Head of Secondary in the oversight of day-to-day operations.<br \/>\nStaff Leadership and Development: Model exemplary leadership to staff, fostering a culture of high expectations and professional growth.<br \/>\nStudent Progress and Wellbeing: Ensure robust systems are in place to track and support student academic progress and personal development.<br \/>\nSafeguarding and Compliance: Ensure safeguarding is embedded across all areas of school life.<br \/>\nParental and Community Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for parents and carers, particularly in complex or serious matters.<br \/>\nSchool Leadership and Representation: Contribute fully to the Senior Management Team and wider leadership forums.<br \/>\nPERSON PROFILE:<br \/>\nExperience:<br \/>\nSignificant leadership experience within a secondary school setting.<br \/>\nProven track record of raising academic standards and\/or improving pastoral outcomes.<br \/>\nExperience of leading and managing teams.<br \/>\nExperience of effective behaviour management strategies.<br \/>\nKnowledge &amp; Skills:<br \/>\nExcellent understanding of secondary education and current educational developments.<br \/>\nStrong leadership and interpersonal skills.<br \/>\nAbility to inspire, motivate and challenge staff and students.<br \/>\nExcellent organisational and time-management abilities.<br \/>\nProficiency in analysing data to drive improvement.<br \/>\nCommitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.<br \/>\nPersonal Qualities:<br \/>\nMature faith and personal alignment with Chengelo\u2019s Christian ethos.<br \/>\nHigh levels of integrity and professionalism.<br \/>\nPassion for education and student development.<br \/>\nResilience and the ability to work under pressure.<br \/>\nReflective practitioner, committed to continuous improvement.<br \/>\nREMUNERATION AND BENEFITS:<br \/>\nCompetitive local salary.<br \/>\nOn-site accommodation<br \/>\nDiscounted school fees<br \/>\nMain meal during term time.<br \/>\nLocal medical cover<br \/>\nTransport home every two years.<br \/>\nGratuity payment at the end of the contract.<br \/>\nSAFEGUARDING COMMITMENT:<br \/>\nChengelo School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
