RPA\u2019s mandate is to protect the public, workers and the environment from hazards arising from the use of devices or materials capable of producing Ionising Radiation.<br \/>\nThe Authority has vacancies for the following positions:<br \/>\nNuclear and Radiation Technologist (8)<br \/>\nReports To: Nuclear and Radiation Safety Officer<br \/>\nLocation: (Chingola 3, Nakonde 2, Livingstone 2 &amp; Katete 1)<br \/>\nJob Objective<br \/>\nTo ensure the protection of the workers, public and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation by conducting radiation assessments, monitoring, surveys, enforcement and sensitisation.<br \/>\nKey Accountabilities<br \/>\n1. Undertakes timely and effective screening of motor vehicles to detect Materials out of regulatory control (MORC) and facilitate further assessments.<br \/>\n2. Undertakes timely and effective inspections of Nuclear and radioactive materials\/radiation-emitting devices to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.<br \/>\n3. Undertakes timely and effective enforcement procedures against erring practices in order to protect the worker, public and the environment.<br \/>\n4. Undertakes timely preparation of screening reports to facilitate decision making.<br \/>\n5. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards for the protection of the public and the environment from radiation hazards.<br \/>\n6. Liaise with internal stakeholders and external entities as necessary.<br \/>\n7. Responsible for the proper use and handling of all resources and equipment under the jobholder\u2019s charge.<br \/>\nQualifications and Skills<br \/>\n1. Minimum Qualification: Diploma in Physical Science or equivalent.<br \/>\n2. Added Advantage: A Degree in Physical Science, Nuclear Science, or a related field.<br \/>\nOther Requirements:<br \/>\n1. Full Grade 12 Certificate<br \/>\n2. Good analytical, report writing, and oral communication skills<br \/>\n3. Computer literate<br \/>\n4. Strong interpersonal skills<br \/>\n5. Be physically fit<br \/>\nSkills\/Attributes<br \/>\n1. Uphold high standards of integrity, honesty, and professionalism in all aspects of work.<br \/>\n2.
