\nThe Required Skills for this Role Include:<\/p>\n
Managing the overall function of the Mechanical Workshop
\nManaging planned preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on all of the company\u2019s vehicles
\nDiagnosing, adjusting, repairing overhaul vehicles, maintaining and repairing any type of diesel engines
\nInspecting and verifying dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specification
\nAllocating and supervising work on a daily basis to the Mechanics team
\nMonitoring progress and inspecting completed work to ensure the required standards are achieved by the Mechanics
\nUndertaking unplanned work resulting from breakdown and emergencies, which is to be dealt with in efficient manner (24 hour call out)
\nEnsuring all log books, requisition books and departmental records are effectively maintained to enable stock control, ordering of parts and all other workshop functions operate efficiently.
\nDetermining vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
\nProducing weekly, monthly and annual statistics and reports.
\nRewiring ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.
\nRepairing radiator leaks.
\nInstalling and repairing accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers.
\nExamining vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
\nTest driving vehicles, and testing components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzer\u2019s, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices<\/p>\n
The Required Qualifications are:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate
\n3 years or more proven experience as a Mechanic.
\nAbility to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints etc.
\nQualified as a Diesel Mechanic.
\nDiploma in Heavy Duty Mechanics
\nValid Driver\u2019s License
\nComputer literate
\nMust be a Member of EIZ<\/p>\n

Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components.
\nA strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
\nAptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools.
\nVery good physical strength and stamina.<\/p>\n
