\nJOB PURPOSE FOR ALL POSITIONS:\u00a0
\nThe core purpose of this role is planning, organizing and implementing of appropriate instructional programs in the section\u2019s environment that guide and challenge students to acquire expected knowledge, skills and understanding to fulfil their potential in the 21st Century. To ignite a passion for learning, create a sense of achievement for all and demonstrate the highest expectations whilst acknowledging that each of our children is unique with individual strengths and needs.
\nPOSITION # 1:\u00a0Early Childhood Teacher (1)
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
To work with children by providing a safe and nurturing environment for social and academic growth.
\nTo provide supervision, discipline and other forms of general care, in addition to helping with instruction and clerical work.
\nTo be responsible for observing and monitoring student activity at all times. In a classroom or gymnasium, on a playground, during field trips or during meals. You must be constantly aware of the locations of students and keep them in line of sight. Through this observation, you must be able to recognize inappropriate behaviour and discipline students accordingly.
\nTo provide an optimal learning environment.
\nTo prepare and execute lesson plans and activities, Develop Schedules and Enforce Routines.
\nTo monitor students and to ensure that student injuries are avoided & provide age-appropriate Supervision.
\nAssess In-Class and Homework Assignments.
\nTo facilitate individual and small group work so that students can enjoy a more specialized learning experience.
\nAssist in the implementation of Creative Curriculum activities and encourage participation by children.
\nLead Daily Activities, maintain a Safe and Comfortable Environment \u2013 to keep all children active and engaged while they are in the classroom.<\/p>\n
POSITION # 2: Primary Assistant Teacher (1)
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Taking responsibility for a primary class, supporting, nurturing and taking a genuine interest in the holistic development of all children in that class.
\nWorking closely with Colleagues and the Head Teacher to ensure effective teaching and learning.
\nPlanning and implementing a relevant, challenging and rigorous curriculum.
\nPlanning and delivering lessons, ensuring attention is given to appropriate differentiation.
\nContributing to collaborative learning at all levels of school life.
\nCreating inquiry-based classrooms that develop critical thinking skills, knowledge, and a range of skills within an environment based on trust, respect, and fairness.
\nSelecting relevant resources and leveraging digital tools to support and enhance learning;
\nDevelop appropriate assessment tasks, providing timely and effective feedback that enhances pupil\u2019s learning;
\nCommunicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues in a professional manner.
\nProvide appropriate pastoral support as and when necessary.
\nPlay an active role in the school\u2019s extra-curricular programmes<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL COMPETENCIES:<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 Certificate with 5 Credits or better
\nAt least a Diploma in Early Childhood Education (for the ELC position) \/ Diploma in Primary Education (for the Primary Assistant Teacher position) from a recognized college. A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Education will be an added advantage.
\nQualified teacher registered with The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ)
\nA Growth Mindset
\nAt least 2 years\u2019 teaching experience
\nGood communication (both oral and written) and presentation skills,
\nGood administrative and interpersonal skills
\nMust hold high levels of integrity, professionalism, and compassion
\nFlexible to changing work needs<\/p>\n
