\nResponsibilities for Machinist\/Line borer
\nReview samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
\nTake measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
\nPlan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
\nSelect appropriate machines (e.g., lathes) and position or load material for a job
\nMonitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
\nDetermine and program size of batches and speed of machine
\nMonitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
\nPerform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
\nAble to work with lathe, milling, vertical lathe, drilling, cutting etc machines
\nQualifications for Machinist\/Line Borer
\nCraft certificate or trade test level 5 preferred
\nMinimum 2 years\u2019 experience in a busy workshop
\nExcellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
\nGreat verbal and written communication skills
\nExperience in using and\/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
\nAbility to use precision tools (e.g., callipers) to take accurate measurements
\nAbility to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
\nKnowledge of metal properties and other material
\nOutstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
\nPhysical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
\nGood line boring machining skills a must<\/p>\n
