\nResponsibilities for mechanic
\nThe successful candidate should able to
\nEquipment Repair and Maintenance \u2013 Repairs and maintains mechanical\/electrical issues of the engine\/equipment such as compressors, cherry picker, folk lift, gensets etc, following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair;
\nInstall, maintain, and repair hydraulic systems and components
\nMaintenance and overhaul of diesel welding machines, cherry pickers, diesel pumps, gearboxes etc
\nExperience in the repair rebuild and overhaul of industrial engine such as Deutz, Kirloskar, Perkins, CAT, Cummins, etc a must
\nRegular vehicle servicing with preventative maintenance
\nIdentify\u00a0mechanical faults through computerized diagnostic equipment or manually pinpointing sources of trouble that could not be found by the diagnostic mechanism
\nRepair and servicing mine equipment transmission systems
\nMaintain and repair the brake system
\nCarry out diagnosis and repair of problems in the electrical system, including the battery, starter, and alternator
\nReplace or repair suspension and steering components
\nTest for emissions and work towards\u00a0getting the emissions within the proper limits
\nReplace or repair fuel system components
\nService or repair hybrid and electric vehicle systems
\nMaintain and repair hydraulic systems in applicable vehicles
\nRecord all repairs or maintenance in the appropriate occupational reports
\nCommunicate to clients, in non-technical language, reviewed repairs and maintenance that the technician has identified
\nProvide repair estimates and repair timelines and seek customer approval for work order
\nWork to maintain awareness and working knowledge of new automotive technologies and to attend professional development on technical practices
\nCarry out engine tune-ups to make the vehicle perform the best it possibly can
\nFollow proper safety protocols and maintain an organized, clean work area.
\nQualifications for mechanic<\/p>\n
Diploma\/Craft certificate in mechanics from a reputable institution
\nMinimum 2 years experience in a busy workshop
\nExcellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
\nGreat verbal and written communication skills
\nExperience in using and\/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines
\nAbility to use precision tools (e.g., callipers) to take accurate measurements
\nAbility to read blueprints, schematics and manuals<\/p>\n
