We are looking for an experienced Auto Mechanic with a strong background in maintaining both tipper trucks and heavy-duty dump trucks used in demanding mining environments.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Perform mechanical diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on tipper trucks (e.g., Shacman, Howo, Volvo, Tata) and off-road mining dump trucks (e.g., CAT, Komatsu, Bell, Volvo).
\nTroubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, clutches, gearboxes, suspension systems, and differentials.
\nConduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and component overhauls to reduce downtime.
\nWork with diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults in high-horsepower engines (400\u20131,200 HP).
\nEnsure all repairs meet safety, environmental, and operational standards set for mining vehicles.
\nAccurately maintain service records and communicate issues and solutions clearly with the supervisor or maintenance planner.<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate + Trade Test Certificate in Auto Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair.
\nMinimum 3\u20135 years\u2019 hands-on experience working on both on-road and off-road heavy-duty trucks in a mining or construction setting.
\nDeep understanding of diesel engine technology, turbochargers, air systems, and hydraulic controls.
\nFamiliarity with both rigid and articulated dump trucks used in open-pit mining is highly desirable.
\nMust be physically fit and able to work under pressure in remote and harsh conditions (hot, dusty, high temperatures).
\nA valid driver\u2019s license is an added advantage.
\nMust be a Copperbelt resident and available to start immediately.<\/p>\n
