\nThe\u00a0Head of Finance\u00a0at Bayobab Zambia is a strategic financial leader responsible for overseeing the company\u2019s financial operations, ensuring fiscal discipline, and driving financial performance. This role ensures the financial viability and profitability of the organization through effective financial planning, risk management, and operational efficiency.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n1. Strategic Financial Leadership<\/p>\n
Formulate and execute robust financial strategies that support Bayobab Zambia\u2019s business plan and long-term growth.
\nProvide commercially grounded financial advice to the Managing Director and leadership team to influence strategic decisions.
\nChampion cost optimization, revenue growth, and margin improvement initiatives.<\/p>\n
2. Financial Planning & Analysis<\/p>\n
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes.
\nConduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
\nDevelop business cases for new investments and capital expenditure, ensuring alignment with ROI targets.<\/p>\n
3. Governance, Risk & Compliance<\/p>\n
Ensure full compliance with local tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
\nImplement and maintain a strong internal control environment aligned to group financial policies and audit standards.
\nOversee timely preparation of audited financial statements and manage external audit relationships.<\/p>\n
4. Operational Financial Management<\/p>\n
Oversee finance operations including accounts payable\/receivable, cash flow management, general ledger, and procurement finance.
\nEnsure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial reporting.
\nDrive efficiency in working capital and liquidity management.<\/p>\n
5. People & Team Leadership<\/p>\n
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team with strong capabilities in business partnering, control, and reporting.
\nPromote a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
\nSet clear performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and support professional development and succession planning.<\/p>\n
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnering<\/p>\n
Act as the key financial representative on the Bayobab Zambia executive leadership team.
\nPartner with cross-functional teams to evaluate business performance and support operational execution.
\nLiaise with Group Finance and regional offices to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide financial targets and policies.<\/p>\n
Education:<\/p>\n
Minimum CPA \/ CIMA \/ACCA
\nMinimum 4-year degree in Finance or Business
\nMaster\u2019s degree in Finance an added advantage<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
5+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting and finance operations with at least 3 years in Telecom industry;
\n3\u20134 years in a managerial role, with a proven track record of driving financial success;
\nExperience in wholesale, infrastructure, or B2B telecommunications is an added advantage.<\/p>\n
