Kawambwa Tea Industries Limited\u00a0(KTIL) is the country\u2019s major tea producer, located in Kawambwa District of Luapula Province, Zambia. The Company grows, processes, and packages tea for sale. KTIL started as a Government tea-growing pilot project in 1969, became a State-Owned Company in 1975, was privatized in 1996, and was reacquired by the Government of the Republic of Zambia in 2015. The Company operated under Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation (ZAFFICO) Tea Company Limited until 2019, when it was incorporated under the Industrial Development Corporation Limited (IDC).
\nRole Overview:
\nThe Internal Audit Manager will lead the development and execution of risk-based internal audit plans, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and the integrity of financial reporting. This role involves identifying and mitigating operational, financial, and strategic risks, and providing insights to enhance governance and operational efficiency. This role reports functionally to the Board through the Audit and Risk Committee and administratively to the General Manager.
\nKey Roles and Responsibilities:
\nStrategic Leadership of the Audit and Risk Function<\/p>\n
Lead in the development and execution of the internal audit strategy for KTIL.
\nDevelop performance targets, priorities, and KPIs for the internal audit and risk department.
\nLead the continuous improvement of audit processes, tools, and methodologies to keep pace with changing business risks.<\/p>\n
Risk-Based Internal Auditing<\/p>\n
Conduct assurance and advisory engagements (e.g. operational, financial, compliance, and ICT).
\nPerform detailed testing of internal controls to evaluate efficiency, effectiveness, and adequacy.
\nDocument and communicate audit findings and appropriate recommendations clearly to the Board
\nand management.
\nMonitor developments in the regulatory environment and evaluate their impact on the Company\u2019s
\noperations.
\nEnsure timely and effective implementation of any new compliance requirements.<\/p>\n
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)<\/p>\n
Assist in the establishment and implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management framework.<\/p>\n
Business Continuity and Operational Risk Readiness<\/p>\n
Review the design business continuity plans and make recommendations for improvement.<\/p>\n
Capacity Building and Risk Awareness<\/p>\n
Assist in promoting good employee culture that supports good control environment, fraud awareness, risk awareness and other advisory activities such as policies and procedures behaviour.<\/p>\n
Others<\/p>\n
Communications with relevant stakeholders.
\nDetermining and managing resources allocated to the internal audit function.<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate with five (5) O Levels.
\nBachelor\u2019s degree Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, Economics, Computer studies, Risk Management and\/or equivalent Professional Qualification CIA, ACCA, CIMA, CA in relevant field from a reputable institution.
\nProfessional Membership with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountant (ZICA), IRMZ, ISACA.
\nMinimum five (5) years of work experience in a management position.<\/p>\n
