Job Title: Agribusiness Officer
\nLocation: Lusaka HQ with frequent field travel
\nReports to: Head of Agribusiness
\nEmployment Type: Full-Time
\nJob Purpose:
\nThe Agribusiness Officer will be responsible for providing technical support, sector insights, and client engagement to ensure that Mikalo\u2019s agricultural finance products meet the needs of farmers.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Support the design and implementation of agricultural finance products and services.
\nConduct field assessments and client engagements to understand agricultural practices and challenges.
\nProvide technical advisory services and training to clients on agricultural best practices.
\nLiaise with government bodies, cooperatives, and agri-based NGOs to build strategic partnerships.
\nMonitor agricultural project performance and impact in the field.
\nSupport risk assessment for agri-loan clients in collaboration with the credit team.
\nKeep abreast of climate, market, and input trends to inform strategic decisions.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or related field.
\nAt least 3 years of relevant work experience in Zambia\u2019s agricultural sector.
\nMembership with a recognized professional agricultural body (e.g., ZASTA).
\nExperience working with smallholder farmers or agri-based financial institutions is an advantage.
\nStrong communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
\nWillingness to travel frequently to field locations.<\/p>\n
