Chongwe Child Development Agency is a voluntary membership based, child protection and child
\ncentered development organization. It is a non-governmental organization that is non-profit making,
\nnon-religious, non-political, non-partisan, and which does not discriminate on account of color,
\ncreed, tribe, race or nationality.
\nChongwe Child Development Agency wishes to invite suitably qualified and experienced
\npersons for the following position.
\nJob Title : Programmes Officer (x4)
\nReports to : Programmes and Sponsorship Coordinator
\nJob Location : (Chongwe and Rufunsa district).
\nCore Purpose\u00a0: Working as a senior member of a diverse team who are committed to
\nserve the vulnerable with practical and compassionate care, the Programmes Officer manages
\nthe implementation and coordination of the designated field life stage project level, providing
\nleadership, strategic direction and monitoring of all aspects of current and future projects, the
\nProgrammes Officer also plays a key role in liaison with local authorities and other relevant
\nstakeholders. The core purpose of this position is to facilitate community engagement, build
\nand strengthen local partnerships, enhance community and partner capacity, and strengthen
\ncommunity-led initiatives to improve and sustain the well-being of children and families.
\nOverall, the Programme Officer works collaboratively with the Programmes and Sponsorship
\nCoordinator on aspect of leadership and management.
\nProgram Officer\u2019s Job Description
\n1. Serve as lead liaison between the community and central federation office in all
\nprogram and Child Sponsorship Programs.
\n2. Oversee the overall implementation of the designated life stage project(s) level
\nand ensuring objectives are met within the required time frame and budget. Where
\nnecessary ensure preventative and corrective action is taken according to the
\norganizational standards.
\n3. Work with community volunteers to implement activities for improved integrated
\nimplementation for impact, measure and create integration opportunities for
\nSponsorship Business.
\n4. Ensure timely implementation, reporting, documentation of best practices and
\nlessons learned.
\n5. Oversee the financial management of assigned community projects and ensure
\ncompliance with set standards and requirements.
\n6. Participate in the review and development of plans and budgets as well as
\nmonitoring of expenditures with full accountability.
\n7. Perform other reasonable related business duties as assigned by immediate
\nsupervisor, other management staff and organization.
\n8. Actively participate in proposal development and resource mobilization.
\nQualification Skills and knowledge
\n1. A Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social Work, Development studies, Community
\nDevelopment and Project Management or any other related field.
\n2. Proven ability to Manage projects, set priorities, work independently and take
\ninitiative, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
\n3. Excellent writing, analytical skills and problem solving. Demonstrated ability in
\ngrant writing, reports, and results of organizational documents with minimal
\nsupervision.
\n4. Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
\n5. Passion to work with children and adolescents and have competent knowledge and
\nunderstanding in child protection.
\n6. Ability to professionally engage and work with stakeholders in various settings
\nincluding good collaboration with the community.
\n7. Program management and event coordination. Foster an atmosphere of team work
\nand be result oriented.
\n8. Maintain a high level of confidentiality
\n9. Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate various responsibilities and
\nprioritize conflicting demands and deadlines.
\n10. Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
