The Board through the Search and Employment Committee (SEC) therefore invites applications from suitably qualified experienced persons for this position.<br \/>\nKey Tasks and Responsibilities<br \/>\n(1) \u00a0Provides overall leadership for an inclusive staff and collegiate culture that empowers individuals to attain their full potential and to achieve the Universities\u2019 goal in Teaching, Learning, Research, Innovation, and Community Service.<br \/>\n(2) \u00a0Undertakes regular reporting to the Board.<br \/>\n(3) \u00a0Leads the development and implementation of the University\u2019s Strategic Plan.<br \/>\n(4) \u00a0Provides an effective academic environment for the pursuit of teaching, learning, research and community service for the attainment of liberal professional, scientific and technical education which is responsive to the needs of society and industry.<br \/>\n(5) \u00a0Ensures the development and effective implementation of the financial resource mobilization and management strategy of the University.<br \/>\n(6) \u00a0Ensures that the University recruits and retains sufficient numbers and high caliber of academic, administrative and support staff on terms and conditions of service as<br \/>\ndetermined by the Board.<br \/>\n(7) \u00a0Establishes an environment that promotes a culture of high performance, staff discipline and motivation.<br \/>\n(8) \u00a0Ensures the development and implementation of the infrastructure development and management strategy.<br \/>\n(9) \u00a0Enforces effective utilization of University\u2019s infrastructure and maintenance of the infrastructure.<br \/>\nQUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE<br \/>\n(a) \u00a0Grade 12 Certificate (with 5 \u201c0\u201d levels with credit or better) or its equivalent.<br \/>\n(b) \u00a0Earned Bachelor\u2019s Degree, Earned Master\u2019s Degree and holder of authenticated earned PhD in a relevant field from reputable and recognized University.<br \/>\n(c) \u00a0Accomplished record of scholarly work, research, teaching and public Service.<br \/>\n(d) \u00a0Knowledge and experience of University Systems.<br \/>\n(e) \u00a0Minimum of eight (8) years\u2019 experience at senior management level at a minimum of Dean of School or registrar in a University.<br \/>\n(f) \u00a0Personal and professional integrity with a distinguished track record of successful senior management experience in higher education.<br \/>\n(g) \u00a0A strong record of academic leadership and personal achievement in both teaching and research.<br \/>\n(h) \u00a0Functional ICT Literacy<br \/>\n(i)Demonstrable track record of community service.<br \/>\nTENURE<br \/>\nThe appointment of the Vice-Chancellor shall be for an initial period of three (3) years which could be renewed, subject to a satisfactory performance assessment for a similar period<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
