RPA\u2019s mandate is to protect the public, workers and the environment from hazards arising from the use of devices or materials capable of producing Ionising Radiation.<br \/>\nThe Authority has a vacancy for the following position:<br \/>\nManager Nuclear and Radiation Safety (1)<br \/>\nReports To: Director Nuclear and Radiation Safety<br \/>\nLocation: Lusaka<br \/>\nJob Objective<br \/>\nTo supervise the development and implementation of nuclear and radiation safety enforcement programs to ensure adherence to statutory requirements.<br \/>\nKey Accountabilities<br \/>\n1. Supervises effectively the development and implementation of Nuclear and Radiation Safety standards and guidelines in order to provide an operational framework.<br \/>\n2. Supervises timely and effectively licensing, registration and issuance of permits for Radioactive and Nuclear Materials and Radiation emitting devices in order to ensure compliance to set standards.<br \/>\n3. Supervises timely and effectively inspections of Nuclear and radioactive materials\/radiation emitting devices and facilities in order to ensure compliance to statutory requirements.<br \/>\n4. Supervises effective development and implementation of Nuclear Security Measures and Safeguards in order to ensure National Security.<br \/>\n5. Supervises timely and effectively monitoring and evaluation of Nuclear and radiation protection programmes in order to facilitate implementation of appropriate interventions.<br \/>\n6. Manages effectively the implementation of the performance management systems in order to facilitate attainment of departmental objectives.<br \/>\n7. Manages effectively human, financial and other logistical resources in the department in order to ensure the attainment of the departmental objectives.<br \/>\nMinimum Vocational\/Professional Qualifications<br \/>\n1. Full Form (V)\/Grade 12 Certificate<br \/>\n2. BSc in Physics\/Chemistry or its equivalent<br \/>\n3. Added Advantage: A Master\u2019s Degree in Physical\/ Chemistry, Nuclear Science, or a related field.<br \/>\nMinimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience<br \/>\n1. 5 years of work experience<br \/>\n2. Knowledge and experience in Nuclear and Radiation Safety will be an added advantage<br \/>\n3. Strong written and oral communication skills in English<br \/>\nSkills\/Attributes<br \/>\n1.
