PURPOSE
\nThis exciting opportunity exists in Fraser Alexander Zambia to ensure that all rigging tasks related to the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of all equipment are carried out safely and efficiently. The role requires advanced lifting skills and extensive experience in complex and specialised rigging operations.
\nRESPONSIBILITIES
\nMaintenance Services<\/p>\n
Maintenance of all lifting tackle.
\nMaintain and repair all rigging equipment.
\nConduct plant inspections on all key lifting equipment installations.
\nIdentify and prioritise equipment in need of maintenance, repairs, and certification.
\nPlan downtime for repairs, maintenance, and project work.
\nPunctual adherence to site-specific time schedule\/shift times.
\nComplete tasks as per issued job cards.
\nImplement maintenance schedules for all rigging equipment.<\/p>\n
Health and Safety<\/p>\n
Follow written Safe Work Procedures.
\nWear correct PPE for each specific task.
\nEnsure all safety procedures and site emergency procedures are followed as per training and site-specific standards.
\nReport and record unsafe acts, conditions, and incidents.<\/p>\n
Technical Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Perform pre-engineering studies to undertake rigging activities.
\nCoordinate mobile crane inspection and maintenance.
\nPlan, organise and control the erection, alteration and dismantling of loadbearing scaffolding.
\nInspect rigging equipment for any defects before use.
\nSling complex loads and ensures effective communication during crane operations.
\nCoordinate legal inspections and maintain logbooks.<\/p>\n
Inspection and Reporting<\/p>\n
Identify and prioritise equipment in need of maintenance and repairs.
\nConduct plant inspections of all equipment\/tools and generate default reports within the area of responsibility.
\nReport all faults and problems to the Foreman.<\/p>\n
Housekeeping<\/p>\n
Practice good housekeeping around all work areas.
\nClean tools and store equipment properly.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
Craft certificate in Rigging.
\nGrade Twelve (12) School Certificate.<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
At least 3 years\u2019 experience in maintenance and repairs of mechanical equipment within the mining, construction, transport, plant hire, or manufacturing industries.
\nRegistered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) or eligible for registration with EIZ or equivalent.<\/p>\n

Medically fit as per company standards.
\nStrong commitment to comply with the organisation\u2019s and client\u2019s SHEQ regulations and requirements.
\nKnowledge of legislation related to mechanical installations and equipment.
